Anybody around this morning?
Happy T’day to you and the CBs.
Is that picture from around your place?
Yep, over near the CSA farm and CBtY’s former nursery school.
What are you and Jim and the pack up to today?
Looks like a really nice place to go walk.
We’ve been walking and now we’re thinking about getting ready to go over to my sister’s (sans Pack).
Gobble gobble! Good morning CG! We’re off to Long Island later on. How about you?
We’re off to Jersey (the part that doesn’t look like Jersey) later. My part of the cooking is currently in the oven…dessert, of course.
It’s so nice and mild out today, I almost wish we were hanging out at home.
Have a good time, and watch out for that Jersey Devil. 😉
Good morning, CG!
Hope you guys have a great day.
It’s cleared up and we’re off for a walk in the park.
Hope you all have a wonderful day too. (And I’m a little envious of that walk in the park you’re taking; I don’t think I’ll have time to go for a walk before we have to leave).
It’s still morning here and I’m here now. Am I too late?
Good morning, puget!
We’re heading out to curly’s brother/sil for the ritual calorie shock. Hope you have a good one.
It’s never too late! We just got home a little while ago.
How was your first Thanksgiving in the new place?
(btw, it’s good to see you here.)
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! It’s sunny and breezy and warm and gorgeous here. Intense blue sky, leaves falling like snowflakes. I already smell turkey from one of the neighboring houses.
Happy T-day! What are you all up to today?
Owen is cooking the whole dinner so I’m just sitting outside in the sunshine enjoying my freedom. Hope you and the guys have a good one!
Wow! How nice. Number 1 son and wife are doing the same for us. All we have to do is spring my 90 yo mom from assisted living and get her to their house.
Wow, I first read that as if the oven was doing all the cooking. But I understand you’re in good hands.
That would be a terrific invention if it were true! But first, I want one of those totally waterproof bathrooms that close up and self-clean after you use them, with jets of water and cleanser.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Hope we all get to have a Family Man kind of day;-)
and everybody else that drops by. Just back from walking in the woods, listening to a zillion guns go off. Run, bambi, run.
Hey boran, by the time I take a picture of the whole tree, I’m so far away you can’t tell anything about the tree. So I tried a different method (as you can see, it isn’t exactly pretty out today).
Now THAT’S a tree! Mercy!!
It’s nice old beech but the perspective makes it look a lot bigger than it is. 🙂
And a very happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.
Time for me to get ready to go.
You are great and powerful and I am small and meek. Thanks Andi, I needed that.
We aim to please. 🙂
But maybe not so great and powerful — old beeches tend to hollow out so unlike other trees they keep looking pretty good right up to the end. But eventually there isn’t enough trunk left to withstand a decent wind and they go down, splinting into thousands of the world’s biggest toothpicks.
Happy Thanksgiving to all my pals in the pond!!!!! Sorry I am not around much anymore but I think of you often. I will try and find some time to come and visit more often.
Happy Thanksgiving!!! podcast Some great music, memories and a little politics. LOL
Hiya RF!
So glad I stopped by before I head out for the day to see that you have been by. We all miss you and think of you all the time.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and the Diva Dogs.
Hi Miss Andi!!!! I would promise I will be here more often but I have done that in the past and not kept the promise but know I plan to try to be here. LOL
Hey, rf!
Happy Thanksgiving to you too. Hope you’re doing well and to see you back more often.
Thank you!!!! I will try but refuse to make promises I can not keep. LOL I hope things are going well for you also!!!
Happy Thanksgiving!
(((RF)))
A great big HUG back at ya!!!!!!
Got back from my brother’s house for T’giving. This year there were only 18 of us. A small/medium family gathering. I guess since it was a smaller family gathering they cut back on the food. We had Fried turkey, baked turkey, baked ham and I don’t know how many casseroles. Potato salad, mashed potatoes/gravy, 2 different dressings/giblet gravy and two cakes, three pies and ice cream. I told them next time just don’t cook enough for me. They should think of themselves too. :O
Hope everyone is having a great T’giving. I think it’s time for me to lay down and digest now.
18 is a small family gathering. OMG, we call that many a family reunion. LOL Sounds like they had just enough food for you and might have had to go to KFC for the rest of them. LOL
Even better TFSMIF when it’s the second no-work day in a row.
Morning Andi.
Hope you had a good day yesterday. I’m trying to come out of a turkey induced coma, so I can drink coffee and then start eating turkey again.
It has been cold down here. Driving back from my brother’s house yesterday at around 3:00 pm it was only 48. I think we’re supposed to be in the 50’s today.
Good morning, FM!
I still feel stuffed. Coffee sounds like a good idea.
It’s dropped a lot here as well, we had a brief, heavy rain last evening, and it’s been dropping since then, from 59 to the current 35.
Morning Ask.
Yep I’m liking the cold weather. It seem coffee goes so much better with cold weather. 🙂
It’s 24 here right now which I think is the coldest day yet this fall.
Best thing I had yesterday was a pumpkin bread roll filled with cream cheese. Yummy.
24 will probably be the coldest day we have all year.
Good morning, Andi!
Enjoy the extra long weekend.
No slacking here today, curly wants the bedroom painted.
Oh no, you can’t do that! Doesn’t curly know it’s illegal to do anything useful the day after a immense food feast.
What Andi said. This is definitely a day after slack day.
Well, I’m not sure if that kind of plea will help. And remember,
this is a Manhattan apt – it’s not big, and we’re only doing the walls.
If it’s more than one square foot, it too much to paint today.
Well I’m a strict constructionist. So I’m afraid I still must disapprove.
Morning Folks!!!! I just fed the Diva Dogs a Turkey Breast Breakfast as I forgot to put it in the fridge last night. LOL Actually works out fine as I have to buy their dog food later today after I go into work for a few hours.
George could only hope he gets some turkey. I’ll start growling at him if he comes near mine. 🙂
ROTFLMAO!!!!!! I know have this vision of george cowering in a corner as you growl at him with a turkey leg in your mouth.
How did you know? 🙂
No in reality George does that high pitched whine so loud that he gets what he wants.
He and Reba must be related. LOL
And the Diva Dogs give great thanks to the FSM who is kind to all. 🙂
LOL They gobbled up their breakfast a lot faster than usual. LOL
I just have to share this report from utopia with you. This footage ended up on the cutting floor when Michael Moore made Sicko.
Two comments:
Interesting. Can you sum up what isn’t accurate (besides the glaring lack of snow)?
The prison that is profiled is quite unique and only available to convicts who have earned trust and who have already served most of their time. There are other open prisons, but not in such fantastic surroundings as at Bastøy. There are also high security prisons.
Early in the clip you see a woman on a scooter in a hospital corridor, that is at the National (University) Hospital. That is a new state-of-the-art hospital. But there are communities where the facilities are not fully up to date, or where capacities are not sufficient (for non-critical procedures). There are cases where patients’ beds are in corridors because there is not room.
Not everyone gets a ‘free tropical vacation’ (usually a 2-week stay in the Canary Islands), but for some patients, such a stay is beneficial therapy.
And the lack of snow; well, we do have summers as well (most years, anyway). I think this was shot the summer of 2006 (since movie was released this summer) – that summer was unique; two months of continuous blue skies.
Thanks. I like having the full story.
(I meant the ‘lack of snow’ of snow as joke and in fact my utopia would have some snow, just not quite as much as Norway has.)
Well I’m off to get going on some errands. Have a good day, even if you do go ahead and paint.
Yep I’m ready to immigrate. They do speak English and have McDonalds there don’t they. :O
With their health rate being so much better I doubt McDonalds is there. LOL
You would be wrong.
I was hoping one country had avoided their nasty food. LOL
Gotta get going. George is ready to go out, and I’ve got a lot of left overs and naps to get into today.
I am heading out also as I have to go work for a few hours and then do some shopping. LOL
Drats! missed everyone again. We had a terrific day yesterday; the first time I had all the kids with me for Thanksgiving in 7 years, and the eldest did all of the cooking, from squash soup and smoked salmon cheesecake to turkey and garlic mashed potatoes. The downside is that I have all the dishes and the kids have scattered. The middle boy just bought a motorcycle (Gaaaa!) and it must be ridden so obviously he can’t help with the cleanup, and the others found their own implausible excuses.
RF, so nice to see you here again….I missed you! 🙂
Good morning, SN!
Looks like he dished up a great meal for you all.
Well, we better get started with our project for today.
Morning SN.
How was the fishy cheesecake? I don’t think I’ve ever heard of that.
Glad you had a no-cook T’giving, but not so glad you had to clean it up.
Sounds sort of gross if you think of it as cheesecake, but it’s more of a dip/cracker spread. Yum!
Since you put it that way, it does sound kind of good. I wonder if he could substitute chitlins for salmon?
I miss you also!!!! I will try and be around more often
Good morning all. Gearing up for turkey day II tomorrow with the other side of the family. It’s promising to be memorable, but not in a good way.
too bad you’re not looking forward to it.
Hopefully all will turn out well, but given the behind the scenes issues (menu) already it doesn’t bode well.
Ain’t family Grand? LOL I am so glad all of mine lives in NC. ROTFLMAO!!!!!!!!!!!
Morning Boran.
Just think to yourself you only have to do this every now and then, but you are married to Madame Boran, and you’re stuck with her family for………OMG run for your life Boran. 🙂
Just kidding. I think with your sense of humor the day should turn out right.
I hope that you’re right, FM.

It’s a warm breezy 33 down here. I was looking at the weather radar and it shows some area getting a little snow. By the time the front hits us, it will have warmed up and we won’t get any.
Sorry about your almost snow.
It’s plenty cold for snow here but there’s no precip in the forecast.
Good morning, FM and Andi!
It’s a fresh 26 outside.
Morning Ask.
You’re a few degrees lower than us. It’s supposed to start warming up and thundershowers tomorrow.
How did the painting go yesterday?
Surprisingly well. curly used this new ecological paint (the name escapes me now) that only requires one coat. We were done by 1.30.
That’s not too bad. I think by 1:30 I was into my third nap after hitting the left overs all morning.
Any major renovation jobs today?
Nope, I escaped to my own place 😉
She’s painting doors today.
Oh, I did manage to include an afternoon nap.
An afternoon nap is good, but a couple in the morning and an afternoon nap is better.
I’m glad to hear that if you were going to violate an immutable law, you only did it for a limited time.
I figured it would help the get-back-in-shape program.
Well that’s one way to put a happy face on it, I guess.
I thought I should bring some color to the cafe to counterbalance the big grey up above.
That’s very nice Andi. Is it the last leaf left. Say that fast 3 times. 🙂
I’m not saying anything fast until I have at least 2 cups of coffee.
I’m grumbling about coffee this morning. The sil used the last yesterday and I didn’t know to go and get more. I drank half a cup of day old coffee and it’s just not doing the job.
The radar shows the snow about 20 miles away, but it will go north of us. If it did start snowing here, that would be a wake up the whole family event. 🙂
That is one big leaf.
Morning, everyone.
I’m off to get a shower and then to the store to get coffee. I hate to wake up without coffee in the house. Arggg.
