I’m surprised but the New York Giants are giving the New England Patriots a run for the money in their effort to complete a perfect 16-0 season.
Update [2007-12-29 23:38:12 by BooMan]: The Patriots came back to win 38-35. They completed a perfect season. Congratulations to them. Maybe the Giants will get a second chance in the Super Bowl. They proved they can play with them.
Hot diggety!! 21-16 G-Men at the half. Too bad the Pats get the ball in the second half and the Giants’ Defense spent way too much time on the field in the 1st.
Wow. Giants just took it to the Pats on the opening drive. The Pats are going to have to dig deep if they want to win this game.
go giants!
and, here’s some really good news, imnsho, for college ball…rick neuheisel gets the ucla job!.
this guy’s one hell of a coach, and he’s perfect for the pac 10. l hope he kicks ass and takes names.

wasn’t he all into the Brother’s Keepers movement at Colorado?
no, that was mccarthy and the promise keepers…bunch of born again misogynists.

yeah, promise keepers. Glad to hear it wasn’t him. UCLA is where my granddad taught and I’ve always been a fan.
that’s cool…l’ve been a ucla fan for a long time, and rick got screwed, twice, by colo, and wash, with the help of the ncaa, [but he got even at wash]…he’s paid the price and in my view deserves another shot. he’s a ucla alum, and this is a plum job.
imnsho, he’ll make them into national champions within 5 yrs or less.

Yes. Brandon Jacobs is starting to dominate.
Manning TD to Burress. 28-16.
The margin for error is shrinking for the Pats.
Live blogging the game?
it was a great game. One of the best I’ve seen…lived up to the hype.
I’ll be interested to see what impact this game ends up having on the NFL Network. I think they’ve really overreached on this deal – trying to force it onto basic cable – and I think it’ll come back to bite them hard.
I have zero interest in competitive sports, but watching the Pope take on Satan makes me laugh. Existential battles are more amusing, I guess. :>)
Howdy All,
I posted this on the Welcome Wagon (nice to have it back again) but thought I’d try it here too.
I suspect this is a great group to ask this question to. I got a wild idea today to start a blog for my family to use to keep in touch. If I’m running it, it has to be easy and dead simple. Any suggestions? I know many of you have a lot of expertise in this area.
Surely there is something I could use that would be easy for low volume use. What do you think?
Thanks in advance.
I have used blogspot for a personal photography blog, but I want something that will allow other family members to post and not just write comments to my posts.
Just invite them in as posters.
Go to blogger.com, a part of the google empire. Very easy, I’ve had mine for years. My link is below. And it’s totally free of cost.
Hi Boran2. I use blogspot for my blog but how do fix it so other family members can post to it as well? Hi Pygalia, what do you mean by inviting others in as posters? Does that work in blogspot?
Sure, as long as they have your e-mail and password information they can sign on and use it to post. Man Eegee’s blogspot blog has several people posting.
You can also use wordpress for this, and like blogger they have a free hosting service. Personally I prefer the wordpress software (I was at blogspot before the google anschluss) and it’s set up to have multiple-user blogs. I have no idea how complex that is to set up, though.
Thanks, I’ll take a look.
Won’t happen.
The Giants played above their heads.
The Pats played below theirs.
The Giants’ quarterback isn’t ready yet. If ever. When he thinks, he fucks up. Not reflexive enough. better without dominant personalities like Shockey and Barber on the offense with him…second son syndrome, grew up with two dominant quarterbacks in the house, always trying to catch up, not as gifted physically, always hearing the footstp[es of second-best behind him. Has all the knowledge and most of the tools to succeed, but his mind ain’t right.
Plus…their coach doesn’t have the kind of serpentine subtlety that say Bill Parcells possesses to be able handle a quarterback with those kinds of problems.
They won’t make it to the Super Bowl.
The Pats might not make it that far either.
Hubris.
The teams weaknesses faults were laid bare in this game.
Coach and quarteback are both rigid, paranoid, reactionary personalities, their star receiver is and always had been a frontrunner, and their defensive “star”, Rodney Harrison is a cheap-shot artist and obsessive complainer/victim.
A creative coach with a really good team can take them down. Go after Moss and hurt him, go after Harrison and make him fly off the handle, and get ahead enough so that Brady begins to see the real sixth round draft choice waiting to join him on the other side of the mirror of fame if he is not the artificial, militarily stiff perfect man that he has created, and you will begin to see their real selves leach out under pressure.
Can anyone do this?
My money is on the Colts.
Nothing to prove, and Manning has gotten SO loose in the last couple of years.
Watch.
Its the Republican Patriots agains the Democratic Colts.
Watch.
It’s the Democrats’ year. For better or for worse.
It’s the Democrats’ year.
Watch.

I think you nailed it on the Giants’ (and Eli’s) problems, Arthur.
I could go for a Colts superbowl win.
I think the Giants will beat Tampa Bay. After that? I don’t predict anything.
watching Hillary Clinton on ABC and sounds like she is using a page from W’s play book…oh we won’t do well in Iowa.(lower expectation)..and when she comes in third oh that was great we didn’t expect to do so well..just dumbing down isn’t what we need.
