If you lived in Iowa, who would be your first and second choices? Would you show up to caucus?

Yes, I’d caucus. First Kucinich, second Edwards. In a voting situtation I’d never vote for DK because you don’t have that second-chance factor operating, but in a caucus I’d do it.
yes I would caucus..I would be an Edwards supporter if there were the top three to vote for.
forgot 2nd choice…Dodd
Ditto.
I would come early and stay late. I would do everything I could to advocate Edwards. I don’t really have a second choice, but if you held a gun to my head I’d probably pick Dodd or Biden.
I would vote for Edwards and Dodd. Hopefully, Gov. Richardson will drop out and run for the Senate.
I think Tom Udall would make a better Senator than Richardson. But I’d like to see Richardson become Secretary of State.
Richardson doesn’t seem to get much traction as a Presidential candidate, but I think he would be pretty decent at the job. Not necessarily outstanding, but decent.
On the other hand, I think he has the makings of a first class Secretary of State. I think a Richardson State Department would raise the bar for everyone who comes after.
Anything that gets him out of New Mexico. ; )
Well, he does seem to be at his best when he is off somewhere, negotiating something. ;}
This is what makes Iowa so unpredictable; the second choice. While my first choice would be Richardson, he wont get 15%. Dodd would be my second if he’s still viable, otherwise Edwards. But I’m not convinced that Iowa will decide much this time. The cycle has different dynamics this time (more on that later).
On a slightly different note, Andy Borowitz has a great line on Iowa:
Another example of why you can’t poll for a caucus.
If I lived in Iowa I would be on the phone asking everyone to caucus for Edwards. I would also make it my business to be very very very nice to the Dodd, Richardson and Kucinich people. In a caucus situation much on the second choice votes will be based partly on personal associations. You just can’t over emphasize the importance of local talent in a caucus situation.
Dodd’s biggest advantage is the Firefighter endorsement. Traditionally Firefighters are very active in local politics and anyone thinking of a future run for county council or state legislature will want to get on the right side of the Firefighters will be a priority. You could very well go to the caucus intending to vote for Richardson or Biden and then go to Dodd for your second choice just to get on the right side of the local firefighters union.
you just can’t poll for that sort of thing. This is a real GOTV and floor fight.
If I were in Iowa, I’d be out for the caucus and going door to door persuading people to caucus for Obama. My second choice would be Edwards, unless Dodd was somehow viable and Obama was not.
Of course.
Kucinich
And I’d persuade my friends to come join me, as a gesture to promote IMPEACHMENT of the current gang of criminals in the so-called unitary executive branch, as well as to show that we are pro-peace and pro-environment and pro-Constitution.
There is no going forward until we have fixed the errors of the past.
