There is a Republican Debate on MSNBC starting now.
Because Tim Tagaris already wrote it up, I direct you there for the state of the FISA dispute.

With his bad numbers, he should be tossed like Kucinich was.
John McCain is a true hero. Why does he insist on sucking Bush’s balls?
Someone should pose that question to McCain in a “Tastes Great/Less Filling” motif…
Thanks for the link over to Tim. Gore on CSPAN, much mobetta than debate.
this debate is all about who can cut taxes the most…maybe they should ask the question should poor people pay a higher percentage of tax as a rich person or less.
should poor people pay a higher percentage of tax as a rich person
Yup! Dispose of the IRS and introduce a 30% sales tax instead – regressive taxation.
Then call it a “Fairtax”. Once again Orwell rolls over and desperately reachs for writing materials from the grave.
I like how Ron Paul picked a tie that was both red and blue. It gives the debate such symmetry. It would be even more perfect if he were standing in the middle …
I thought they asked each other odd questions.
Were they? I’m reading about Hitler’s invasion of the Soviet Union and wasn’t listening very closely. Which did you think was odd?
well, for example, McCain asked Huckabee a question about the Fair Tax was pretty much a softball. I mean, it’s a nutty idea that McCain doesn’t support, but it made Huckabee look good, which, I think, was the point. See how that is odd?
yeah I can see that now that I think about it. But Huck always debates well no matter the question.
My future running mate type question.
That was weird. McCain/Huckabee 08?
Well, since his own mother says that the Republican establisment will have to hold their nose to vote for him, at least he might get the Evangelical vote that way.
Bingo.
Ugh, McHuckabee is an idea that would make me sick.
I’ve been watching this debate and I just don’t understand the lack of interest over here. What is it 6 or 7 comments so far?
I just love how Mittens was claiming that the Republicans are the party of “Change.” That’s funny. Thanks to their policies, we’re selling our country, piece by piece, to other nations. SO I guess they are. If you haven’t seen Mark Fiore’s latest little cartoon, he really sums it up well…

Rudy just proved he is delusional.
Here’s that clip of McCain’s mother on C-Span. She’s a hoot!

Link requires realplayer as it in C-Span’s archive.
I like Mitt’s tie… just not on him. He looks ill in that outfit.
Mitt’s about the only man on the planet who could make Bill Clinton look like a man of integrity…
Mitt raised the issue of a co-Clinton presidency and returning Bill to the white house. An issue raised by a serious presidential candidate deserves to be properly explored by the press. 🙂
When Bill was President, I refused to see that scumbag side of him. Lately it’s really shining through, ain’t it?
Shining like Sol gone supernova, and just as deadly for the Democratic Party…
Did Rudy just say you have to read, write and speak English to be a citizen. So you have to be literate as well as speak English?
There goes his whole constituency…
Huckabee is slick. Even though he is the number one religious nut-job up there, he’s the only one who sounds sane. He is the one I’d fear most in a general election. Just because he is such a slick debater and nice guy. “Average voters” would love this guy.
He’s somewhat similar to Ronald Reagan that way. Actually, I think he’s better. Reagan never convinced me he was sincere. But Huck is sincere. He’s a sincere nutcase.
But at least he advocated tolerance for atheists.
I think Joe Scarborough is color blind. Those slacks with that jacket? Somebody help that man.
Does anyone else think the NYTimes endorsement of Hillary is written in an … odd way?
On the one hand it is a strong endorsement but on the other hand they seem determined to remind readers of every reason that exists to dislike Hillary. The very first reference to her calls her brilliant but harsh sounding. They chastise her for raising a false choice and tarnishing the campaign. She overstates the importance of resume. She tackles complex domestic issues “sometimes failing.” It talks about her ‘first disastrous’ foray into health insurance. She is often tagged as divisive.
And in the middle of it they go to town on Bill’s participation.
It’s like they are saying – we endorse her but we really can’t stand her.
