It doesn’t look like Iraq is going to cooperate with the president and John McCain’s excellent plan to have Gen. Petraeus and Ambassador Crocker testify that the surge is working. I think that whole narrative will become ‘non-operative’. This means that there really is no justification for John McCain’s candidacy.
However, the Republicans have gamed this out from the beginning so that increased violence means we can’t leave and decreased violence means that we can stay. So…increased violence must mean that things are too dangerous and unstable to justify leaving.
Now, for you history buffs, the Israelis foolishly invaded Lebanon in 1982, and they left in shame in 2000. That’s eighteen years of foolish, counterproductive, expensive, pointlessness. And Iraq is Lebanon on steroids. Kind of like Jose Conseco, only worse.
Does that make Stop Loss into this debacles Juiced? Only worse….
something like that.
So…Bush is Selig? 🙂
Clemens is Iran and Bonds, Pakistan?
Iraq is Lebanon on steroids.
America under Bush is Israel on steroids.

Al-Sadr has always been an irritant for his unwillingness to co-operate with the American forces, but it was the closing of his newspaper in late March 2004 that lit the fuse. After protests and the arrest of one of his supporters, al-Sadr said the demonstrations were not working and he urged his supporters to terrorize their enemies.

"But I will not let myself be reduced to silence."
Must be good news for Rudy Giuliani, right?
OT, but the Philly Inquirer reports Casey to endorse Obama.
Hey, that was the plan to hog tie the next president.
Where on earth do you have a Prime Minister of any country taking charge of the battle – pointing to the forces?…”over there..shoot, fire”
this was the plan. Show America we ain’t ready. you can’t leave.
But note to Obama: if we stay, they’ll fight each other. if we leave, they’ll fight each other. we can’t afford to stay. we’re broke. hurry up and bring the troops home.
I suppose it’s too much to expect that we’ll being hearing a lot of thoughtful analysis on the situation in Iraq. The terrorist meme is dangerously close to pure disinformation, but the “surge is working” meme — repeated with Goebbels-ian redundancy — is hardly much better, and more importantly, it fails to provide a platform for informed decision making by the public on the issue.
Given the byzantine complexity of the Iraq issue, I won’t attempt to give my own analysis. However, the following article is helpful for getting a grip on recent events.

How’s this for a scary thought. Bush is really smart, oh no, that can’t be it….Somebody with their hand up Bush the puppet’s ass is really smart.
And they have brought about exactly what they set out to accomplish: record oil company profits, almost
$4.00/gallon gas, no regulation on any corporate exercise in greed, no government except that government which protects capital, throwing American workers under the bus by sanctifying the dividend check, and the list goes on and on but I get so pissed when I enumerate I get chest pains, so please someone else add to it.
