KABUL (AFP BREAKING NEWS) – Afghanistan’s extremist Taliban movement said it had attacked a military parade in Kabul where rocket and gunfire erupted after President Hamid Karzai had inspected troops.
“We fired rockets at the scene of the celebration,” a spokesman for the insurgent group, Zabihullah Mujahed, told AFP.
Explosions and gunfire sent the thousands of troops and dignitaries, who included President Hamid Karzai, scattering.
"But I will not let myself be reduced to silence."
