The old one was getting a little stale…
(Waving high to the Fs back at the old cafe)
I’m a little stale myself — could you “post” a new me?
Hmm…how about you take a quick peek around the political blogosphere and just remind yourself that you’re way fresher than most of the conversations that are going on today? 😉
It’s still chilly here…do you think it will warm up for the weekend?
Amen to that one. LOL Morning Miss Andi and CabinGirl!!!
Hi refinish! What are you up to on this fine morning?
Trying to catch up on some blogging and then hit the trails looking for a job. LOL
How is the search going? And how are those diva dogs of yours?
Catching up on the blogging thing shouldn’t take long… in the words of the Talking Heads ‘same as it ever was’.
The search sucks but the Diva Dogs are great!!! LOL
Bye RF — I’m off to go walk with the dogs. Hope you have a good one.
Have a great walk!!!!
No thanks. That’s something I am carefully avoiding.
Instead I think I’ll freshen up by taking in some fresh spring growth.
It warmed up here but it’s going to rain.
Okay off to say to RF and then outta here and into the woods.
That sounds like a plan.
Good morning, guys!
My connection has been iffy the last couple of days; just spent 45 minutes with a customer service rep (in India) and all seems to be back.
Beautiful day, though on the cool side.
I have the prettiest driveway in the universe. 🙂

Yes it is. Your blue ribbon is in the mail.
I have to admit that this time of year is the hardest time to be a telecommuter. I don’t want work; I just want to go spend all day outside.
Wireless (or a very long cable) and a laptop will get you outside.
I did this years ago when I lived in a trailer in the middle of nowhere. On sunny days I sit out under the trees.
But I don’t want to work outside, I just want to be outside.
Good morning/afternoon/evening all.

Good morning, Andi!
Are you sending some nicer weather over soon?
I’m busy with deadlines today, but here’s a nice little story for everyone….
Wow, that made me cry….
Me too. I am such a sucker for stories where people step up and do something good for someone else just because it’s the right thing to do…
How are you this morning?
I am groggy and crabby and out of half and half for my morning coffee.
I’m also trying to decide if it’s worth waiting 3 or 4 hours at the jefferson jackson dinner to hear Obama and Clinton speak….
Sorry about the lack of cream in your coffee. :/
I’m crabby because some underaged bozo around here reset my preferences so that my computer was talking to me for every action I took. grr. It’s like changing the position of the driver’s seat in my car…people just shouldn’t do it if they value their lives.
Regarding Jefferson-Jackson, which one goes first? Oh, who am I kidding – you need to listen to both of them and give us a report back. 🙂
I say ladies first. That way I can plan my bathroom trip for when she’s speaking.
Good morning all. Gray and drizzly here, and cold. Winter is back.
Aw, sorry to hear that. Sunny and 80 here. But soon it will be too hot to breathe and I’ll be envying your weather.
And I had big plans to clean up the lawn. I’d take some of that hot weather now.
My upstairs neighbor’s just got home from a party and I am awake now. LOL Guess it will give me more time for blogging and designing. LOL
Sorry you were woken up so early. For once I have a big list of things to get done today too so this is just a drive-by and I’m outta here for the rest of the day.
Hope you have a good one and take a nice, long FM-approved nap at some point.
See ya.
Have a great day Miss Andi!!! and thanks.
before I head out to the Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival…
I’m sorry you have such noisy neighbors, refinish. I hope you can squeeze in a nap today.
Have fun wherever you’re off to Andi (it looks like I already missed you).
Second Nature, you know we’re all expecting a report on lst night’s big event. 🙂
Good morning, all!
Looks like everyone is busy this Saturday. Young asklet’s school has their annual Book Fair today, with lots of activities for young and old.
Good morning all! I’m off to be in the annual spring blossom parade. Mrs. Dem is having a yard party, as the parade passes in front of our house. Have some spring blossoms:
It really brings out the “snowiness” of the dogwoods.

Good morning, Andi!
So lovely in the forest; we had originally planned Berkshires this weekend, but postponed till next (just as well, with our weather).
Good morning Andi & ask! I could swear this is the most beautiful spring I can remember, but maybe its just the geezer memory cells. Regardless, its quite enjoyable.
Good morning!
It came late, we were desperate for it…
I sat on our little front porch with newspaper & coffee this morning. It was a bit chilly at 50F, but sunny & enjoyable just the same after being cooped up all winter!
And I really like the photo you posted of the tree w/ blossoms! So pretty.
Thanks! The white dogwoods are in full bloom, punctuated here and there by the pink hybrids. Here’s a big wisteria that grows about a block from our house. The blooms almost look liquid.
Love wisteria and look how tall it is … That is gorgeous!
I can’t tell from the photo – is it growing up the brick or on something else? I’ve never seen one so big! My friends have a small one growing which has really impacted the brick structure it has twined around etc.
Its an old sandstone fireplace chimney built around 1935 or so. Here’s another view.
I’ve decided not to complain any more about all that rain we got because it sure has led to a gorgeous spring. Everything seems to have leafed out, blossomed, sprouted, seeded, and every other kind of growing. On our walk today we even found some pawpaws trees that had flowered — we hardly ever see those.
I don’t mind the rain so much, as I’m usually glued to a computer screen anyway. There used to be a paw paw behind a house on our block I’ll have to look to see if its still there. I think this afternoon might be a good time to plant some dark hollyhocks.
I’ve been sitting outside reading — I’d say it’s a pretty good day to just about anything.
You’re supposed to out taking new pictures for me. 😉
of the hickory leaves.

Hope your “opening” is as grand.
Good morning!
The top one looks almost otherworldly.
The birds are going nuts in the backyard, beautiful morning.
It’s a beautiful day here too. And the birds are already enjoying it.
They do look otherworldly. That one up top almost looks like it might have a pearly sheen to it in real life.
How was your weekend? Mine was full of non-blogging and sheepstuffs. And now it’s back to the daily grind of deadlines- it’s scientific poster season.
Hickories have the niftiest way of leafing out.
We had a very nice weekend. We spent most of Saturday up in Indy with my mom. And Sunday was just beautiful so we took an especially long walk in the woods.
What’s “sheepstuffs”?
Sounds lovely.
We had friends out for dinner(grilling on the patio) on Friday, I went to MD sheep and wool festival on Saturday morning (hence the sheepstuffs = yarn), and then yesterday was just a gorgeous day with yoga in the morning and relaxing at home in the afternoon.
I’m hoping for a hike or some tennis at lunchtime today. We’re supposed to have gorgeous weather all week though.
Sheep and wool show sounds like fun.
I’m going to head out into our gorgeous weather right now. Hope you get to enjoy yours.
See ya.
Kewl bananas!
We’ve got a scattering of rain today. Just enough to make it unpleasant outside, but not enough to get things watered. 🙁
I love the way hickories leaf out.
Sorry about the yuck weather.
I got the initial awful first mowing and clean up of my lawn done. Now for some slacking a la FM. It is beautiful here today.
Good morning!
A slacking Monday? Not bad!
And a great day for it.
Yep, I’m at work but my boss won’t be here today. Woohoo!
The blossoms are just about done but they can give nice color.

Good morning!
A cool, clear morning – time for a nice walk along the river.
Morning Ask.
It’s a really fine morning here too. The dogs and I are just about to head out to the woods. Too bad we can’t meet you over by the river. 🙂
See ya.
Good morning ask and andi. We’ve got a nice one here too. Low 70s today, not too warm. It’s just too soon for the 80s we were having last week.
That sounds like perfect weather, boran. Will get you a chance to get out and enjoy some of it this afternoon?
I’m hoping. 😉
Although I guess I’ve already missed you…
Another gorgeous day here today. 🙂
Good weather all around I guess. It’s election day here and turnout is expected to be heavy.
This is the prettiest spring since I moved down here – nice and cool and sunny with plenty of rain to ease the drought.
We’re having a nice mix of rain and sun this year too…and the lawn is starting to show it. 🙂
Are you excited about watching the returns today? What’s your sense of things where you live?
I am so ready for the primaries to be over, but I’m starting to be afraid they’ll never end…
I really have no idea how it will go in my area, just that Dems are excited about it. Obama will be at NC State this evening for his victory speech* and I thought about going, but decided I’d watch from the comfort of my living room instead.
*no jinx allowed
I hear you on the potential jinxing thing…I was really glad to be doing GOTV stuff all day on primary day (right up to waiting for the count at the precinct I was assigned) – it made the day go quickly. Luckily, I’m busy with deadlines today, so I can’t spend much time thinking about the results.
:::fingers crossed:::
As nice as the weather’s been, maybe that’s yet another handsome day.

So nice and green…I can’t believe how quickly the leaves have unfurled here after such a chilly start to the spring.
Is it really Wednesday already?
The oaks are just getting green here so the canopy isn’t full yet but it’s close.
It’s really Wednesday and even better it’s the one when the cleaning lady comes, so yay that.
Ah, it is a good day then.
I’m thinking I should clean up the cafe today to, how about you? Ready for a new one?
Back again. Went for my walk and then got busy working.
Sounds like a good idea. This one has been around awhile.
It’s a beautiful day here in the Hudson Valley.
I do love beautiful spring days. Hope you enjoy yours to the fullest.
looks like I can say “Wet morning” to a lot of us in the eastern part of the country.
Morning!
Well, it’s pretty gray here, and showers may develop.
It’s been raining here pretty steadily since yesterday afternoon and based on its track, CG is definitely getting it. And odds are excellent you will too.
Just saw the forecast, rain later today/tomorrow – then a break over the weekend before it starts again on Monday.
We can live with that…
I think we need someone here to sweep up the mess.
Yeah, CG had said that the cleaning crew was coming in but it looks like “they” are running late.
BTW, since we’re on ‘cleaning’; we have a spammer in a few threads.
Drop wiliam6 a doughnut.
We’re having some light rain this morning.
Hi! New cafe up in a minute…and the spammer has just been cut off.
