We know what’s going to happen in the election results tonight, so instead of pontificating about that, I thought I’d point you to a new community blog The Sanctuary created by, among others, our renowned Booman Tribune member, friend and blog colleague Man Eegee. The Sanctuary is a community blog …
… where human-rights, civil-rights, and progressive activists will be discussing issues of concern for all those interested in humane and practical immigration reform, migrant-rights, human-rights, and the greater struggle of all who those have left friends and family behind to start new lives in new lands.
I urge all BooTribbers to visit The Sanctuary, join the community and participate, if you are willing.
I just posted the link to a blogging group I belong to since I know quite a few of the bloggers deal with immigration issues all the time.
it takes a lot to make a brown face like mine blush

thx, Steven. we really appreciate the support as we get the site off the ground.
It’s cause we love ya!!!! and respect the work you are doing.
It was my pleasure. And the site looks great.
nezua worked his xolagrafik magic on the template. I was impressed with what he did to the soapblox design.
I didn’t know Xicanpwr was one of the contributers. He belongs to the blog group I posted it to.
yep, although like me, he’s wearing a different screenname – one that fits our identities better 😉
Plus, Manuel sounds so much sexier… 😛
If I add an accent to Manuél, will it make your head asplode in bliss? ;P
Just about 😉
Well, I know both of you are fabulous bloggers and the site will do very well.
thx, refi – we really, really appreciate the solidarity. It’s hard to blog about these things sometimes, especially over the past couple of years as families have been ripped apart – but we’re going to do our best to keep their stories on the front burner.
We all need to work together and try and help end this foolishness. The republican outlook of hatred is not American. America is a land of immigrants and there has to be some way to work out a immigration policy that does not destroy families or dehumanize people. We also have to make damn sure any trade agreement we enter with another country applies fair wages and safe working conditions to help better other countries as well as our own.
l concur, and have already signed up.
in addition to manny, the list of contributors is impressive, many l’m sure a good number of folks here are familiar with.
the issues that they’re addressing are, and will continue to be, of utmost importance in the healing of this nation.
kudos! to them all, and l wish them theutmost success!
I’m glad to see this being promoted here. I actually signed up some time ago.
Please, if you can, send a few bucks to the good sister. The aftermath of these horrible raids can be severe on the seperated families. After living on the border a number of years and still in the general area, I can attest to the hardship placed on these families. They need all the help they can get. Also, it’s a great site. Those of you involved are to commended.
New stuff added lately:
