Rahm Emanuel Chooses Escorted Obama to AIPAC convention.
Clinton’s remarks to AIPAC were conspicuously devoid of presidential language, unlike Obama’s. Well, unless I missed something.
.
woke up at 3 am and saw a black man in the white house.
"But I will not let myself be reduced to silence."
I certainly thought she went out of her way to espouse a McCain-like hard line on Iran(trying to sound more forceful than Obama), and to conspicuously point out that we should never negotiate with terrorists. This of course coming right after BHO clarified his position on when and how he would sit down with Iranian leaders.
What the hell difference does it make what kind of language he uses to let AIPAC know that the Palestinians, the Lebanese, and the Syrians are screwed for another four years?
We keep winning the war in Iraq:

A suicide bomb has killed at least 15 people and injured at least 50 others near the Baghdad home of a senior Iraqi police general.
This is thought to be the biggest attack in the Iraqi capital in months. […]
Meanwhile three American soldiers have been killed in an exchange of fire in the north of the country, US military officials in Iraq say.
The incident happened at the village of Hawija, near Kirkuk, in an area where Sunni insurgents have been strong.
“This is thought to be the biggest attack in the Iraqi capital in months.“
Not even close! The Americans make tens of bigger attacks than this every day.
Oh, wait, the Americans do not make attacks, do they? Only those mean, bad “insurgents” make attacks. Violence is down. Dropping tons of bombs from the air does not count as violence, does it?
Not that get reported anyway.
hillary as vp not proving a very popular idea, at least in the denver metro:
denver post morning poll, as of 10 amst
another similar one from coloradopols
interesting comment thread as well.
Sorry I don’t have the link, but MSNBC had one with over 600,000 votes and it was running 45-39 against.
Terry McAuliffe last night on the Daily Show — Must see TV.
OK, that was funny.
yeah, what better way to parody McAuliffe than to let him do it for you.
I think he has a budding career as a game show host or Regis Philbin’s replacement should he want ever it.
Ir reminds me of when Saturday Night Live used to be able to get people to make fun of themselves or their public persona (Charlton Heston playing an over-the-top gun nut, Joe Cocker singing a duet with John Belushi’s impression of Joe Cocker). At first I was like “Huh?” and then I realized what was going on.
How about a change of pace (is booman the only one who needs a little vacation around here)? Could someone post a Welcome Wagon Wednesday?
My ears were ringing 🙂
I’m workin on one! You’re right, we do need some frivolity
Could we NOT watch for Clinton’s concession? Could we just go forward and report on what Obama is doing?
I am tired of talking about her. Either she will concede or she will not. Either she will help or she will not.
We will win this thing with or without her. But she is a non-issue.
So the question is–what role will we play in a general election? What will the ground operation look like?
I for one would like to see him take some time off to rejuvenate. Perhaps a European visit like McSame’s under the guise of “meeting leaders” but with time tucked in to get some R&R.
I’ll bet it will be very well-received. Apparently he’s a big hit with the Germans, for example.
OK, so maybe he won’t get as much rest. But at least he can get out of campaign mode for a bit.
It rained almost nonstop since last night. I felt like going back to bed, but needed to grade papers.
I think I’ve got all of that sorted out, but keep flaking out and forgetting what I still need to do before this evening, which is the last class of the quarter.
Now it has stopped raining, at least for the moment, but is muggy as hell.
And once school stuff is done, we still have to pull together our grievances about the clusterf*ck that was our son’s middle school experience. Here’s a bit of the story from last year.

It never got any better–in fact, now that he’s finished with classes, he’s mentioning things that we didn’t even know about.
On the one hand, now that we don’t have to deal with these people any more, it would be easy to put this off indefinitely. But that wouldn’t be the right thing to do.
On the other hand I am just so. Freaking. Tired. I can’t even fathom getting the necessary focus and stamina for this task any time soon.
But guess I’d better head for campus now. Later.
Keep the faith Renee.
