Both Obama & McSame pick women to be VP nominees.
Oh gawd. If that happens I’ll make AG happy and turn off my television forever.
Can’t you just imagine the “news?” Then I’ll predict a manufactured feud between the wives and the VP candidates.
Lord have mercy!
The penguin on top of your television set is about to explode.
“Why did you say Burma?”
“I panicked.”
My prediction: in the event that McCain gets his wish and has a town-hall style debate vs. Obama, we’re going to find out that he’s not nearly as effective in that format when the audience isn’t necessarily friendly.
I predict that I will be eating something similar to this, now that you’ve mentioned mojo
That sounds pretty good, but where’s the al pastor recipe?
The good thing about it is that it can be frozen in small packages to be taken out at any time. You just brush the marinade on pork, chicken, beef, whatever – let it sit for a couple of hours in the fridge, then grill/broil/saute/put on the sidewalk in AZ during the summer.
You can find the chiles at most grocery stores in the “Hispanic” section, if there is one – or one of the small tienditas that are bound to be in the neighborhoods that we’ve reconquered for Aztlán
O:-)
Sounds pretty good. And we have a mexican grocery nearby…I bet they’d have those chilies.
no prob – as an fyi, this can also be mixed in with a 50/50 mixture of ground pork and beef to make good chorizo.
excellent. I’ve been reading a book where they always seem to be eating something with vinegar & peppers. I can’t wait to try this. thanks.
no prob, let me know how it comes out!
I will. I love the chance to walk to either of the two local markets that sell so many chilis.
oh my….l can hear your arteries snapping shut from here, manny.
but it sounds reallllllly good.
bookmarked the recipe, btw…:{)
that’s the spirit!
which, incidentally, is the form that i’ll end up in if i eat too much of it.
l hear ya. l LUV shell fish and always welcome a new opportunity to indulge in it.
moderación en todas las cosas, mi amigo,
also saved the al pastor marinade one…that sounds really good, and there are some very good tienditas…l’m used to the term bodegas…up here.
looking forward to trying both…
Manny remember your friends and that there are such things as care packages. 🙂
heh, as if there would be left-overs 😉
the pond and your yard look like they would make a great place for a meet-up someday. i’d be happy to cook up a feast if I ever make it down to the area.
I’d love to have you and everyone down here. Of course I’d have to cook up some Southern delicacies. Maybe then I could get ya’ll to appreciate a good pimento cheese sandwich. 🙂
I’ll skip the pimiento cheese but I’d like some home made ice cream … 🙂
Hiya Mary.
I haven’t even broken out the ice cream maker yet. I’m glad you bought it up. I’ll be getting it out of storage tonight. Now I’ll just have to come up with some new recipes.
This whole thread is making me soooo hungry. I just went over to European Tribune and found out it’s their 3d birthday today. I was looking for the cake. 🙂
You two have a good time with that cake. I’ve got to go and start dinner.
Here’s 4’s for everyone!
the amount of chocolate in that cake … I would be awake for days.
But it might be worth it … 🙂
When are you coming over to make this? I know you’ve got a spare five minutes somewhere!
We’re having a picnic meetup in St. Louis on June 21. You should come cook up a feast here 🙂
And anyone reading this who lives in or around St. Louis – you should come.
if i start flapping my arms fast enough, perhaps I’ll get enough lift by then to make it 😉
Have a great time! I am officially jealous.
Can’t decide whether Sangria or a Margarita would go better with it though.
as hot as it is this week in the desert, I’d be all about the margarita. Though the thought of Sangria just made my mouth water. mmmmmm
I just had lunch and that still sounds good.
two sticks of butter?! I might as well just apply them directly to my thighs.
Do they absorb better that way? 😛
yes, but the joy of it is that if you’re enjoying it alongside others then the sticks are being applied to everyone’s thighs. we can raise our cholesterol together in bliss 🙂
Hehe.
nothing like camarones or cangrejo with butter and garlic, ahhh,, I just feel the sea breeze.
sea breeze, yesssssss. i need to get myself closer to the ocean and away from the widespread oven effect in the Sonoran desert.
What time should I be over?
I was just thinking. Philly has their cheesesteak and Chicago has its deep dish. What food is St. Louis famous for? 🙂
Toasted Ravioli.
And barbequed Pork Steaks.
I had forgotten about the barbeque, but I don’t remember the Toasted Ravioli. Wish I had tried some while I lived there.
yeah, you can’t go wrong with deep fried Italian food. Those Italian immigrants took to the quaisi-southern nature of St. Louis and started cooking.
Well being from the South, I can say that just about anything deep fried is good. But the heart by-pass surgeries from clogged arteries isn’t. 🙂
i told you years ago (wow, time flies!) that I’d cook for you anytime you decided to make it out to Baja Arizona. It’s a tad bit warm at the moment, though, so be forwarned (he says as he contemplates driving with his fingertips in a few minutes).
There’s a place in Hollywood that has THE BEST ajo sauce. I can just eat the garlic straight.
The most important long-term effect of this election will be on the composition of the Supreme Court. If McCain wins, it’s going to contain three or four Scalias for a long, long time.
BooMan do you think a link to the ROBO-RATER would be good for this thread? I would put up a link, but for the ROBO-RATER, I’m not sure how.
Robo-rater link
Hmm. Doesn’t work for Opera (new release today)
Hiya Ask.
Isn’t Opera just for Apple?
Hi FM. No, Opera has versions for most platforms you can think of, from stripped-down versions for phones to Windows, Mac and Linux.
Ask, is your Javascript on? Did you try pasting the URL on the RoboRater page into the address bar? I’m afraid I don’t have access to Opera anymore so I can’t check to see what the problem is.
Hi Omir. Good to see you and thanks.
I might download it just to see the difference between it and Firefox.
Ahm.. how do I know if Javascript is on? How do I turn it on?
Hi ask, it works for me with Opera, which is my favorite browser. The rater that is.
I tried to get over to Villageblue tonight, but it kept giving me This website is temporarily unavailable, please try again later.
I don’t know if I’m doing something wrong or what. Has your blog gone down for awhile.
It works fine for me right now and I don’t know why it would go down, are you using the link below, this is not the old village, it’s the new one on word press.
If you still have problems let me know.
Thanks for the help Diane. I must have been using the old blog to get there. I’ve found it and bookmarked it now. I’ll be adding you back to my blogroll over at my place tomorrow.
Depends on whether you’re running Linux, Mac or Windows, but it’ll be somewhere in your browser’s preferences. In my version of Firefox for Linux, you go to Edit -> Preferences, click the “Content” button and then make sure the box marked “Enable Javascript” is checked.
I predict…darkness tonight, with scattered light areas toward morning.
Possibly a change in temperature too?
Thank you Al Sleet, the Hippy Dippy Weatherman.
“Bringing you all the hippy dippy weather, man.”
My favorite George Carlin-as-Al Sleet bit:
“Now if you look at the weather radar you’ll see a line of thundershowers stretching from a point fifteen miles south-southwest of Lake Minnetonka to a point twelve miles north-northeast of Fond du Lac.
“You’ll also see a squadron of incoming Russian ICBMs.
“So I wouldn’t sweat the thundershowers.”
Forecast for tomorrow; a few sprinkles of genius with a chance of doom! – Stewie Griffin
May oldbies have mojo, too?
Hi Melanchthon.
They’d better or I’ll have to find some way of giving myself 4’s. 🙂
444,444,444,444,444,444,444 etc. etc. for you Melanchthon, if you’ll bring back that lovely patio brunch once in a while.
Or even comment sometimes.
Hi melanchthon! Long time no see!
Hi, CG! I’ve been very busy and, besides, the pond was very much focused on US politics, so I’ve been mainly lurking. But for me, there is not a day without having a look at what’s happening here…
we have trusted users?
i predict a terror event on american soil before november
ROTFLMAO!!!! I think every site does.
Hi Family Man!!!!!
How’s the voting coming RF?
Pretty good. I am up to 59 supporters and that is more than anyone else in Texas. LOL
Good for you RF! Wish I could vote multiple times.
LOL I wish you could also!!! You can always have FMom vote for me. LOL
what type of terror event….one where someone releases naked pictures of John McCain…now that would be a terror event.
I predict we kick some serious republican booty in November!!!!
Though we may still see Rove frog-marched (with help from Scotty and Siegelman!) this year, all others will be gone with the new (Democratic) administration.
So, any thoughts whether the logo will stay or get updated or replaced?
Rove gets indicted but pardoned by Bush. So does everyone else in the administration for “crimes they may have committed.” (Whatever wording that Nixon got.)
The logo doesn’t change.
I predict that John McCain will not be the Republican candidate after the convention and if he is, the Republicans ‘McGovern’ the fucker and start making plans for the Obama impeachment (we all know it’s going to happen) and 2012 election.
i predict veritas federal media’s payment for the sinclair press conference at the national press club’s building becomes a new harvard business school textbook example of “goodbye source, hello dipwad/go ahead and slander me/good judgement is a lost cause” political fund-scrubbing without a license.
This will make the top 40?
I’m missing out on booman goodness by only checking my reader. It’s been a day behind for 4 days now.
I predict more crappy weather worldwide in the form of hurricanes, tornadoes, typhoons, cyclones, etc. I’ve spent the last several days working on damage estimates from an F2 tornado and serious flooding last Friday in my county. Global warming a problem? Nah.
