I’d forgotten how little I care for humidity. How’s your weather?

94 with humidity you can suck through a straw.
So what’s the problem? Just another summer day down South. 🙂
I think we’re only 2 or 3 degrees behind you, FWIW. Ugh.
101 today. Will break all records, but only 30% humidity. Pond in the back drying up a month early, algae on it so thick dogs thought they could eat it…ughhh.
I always think you’re from Maine because of your username, and then I remember that you are not.
4th generation from the sea. Miss it still and thence the name. Days like this, with no air conditioning and Satchmo has crashed in the tub to stay cool, I ponder my decision to move.
Nice here, a thin haze keeping things from heating up. I’m hoping for the normal midday breeze. The fog is onshore in Daly City, a few miles to the north, keeping the temperature in check. The smoke from the wildfires is down.
75 at my house, about 80 inland. I suppose around 70% humidity.
Just another day in SoCal.
nalbar
77 degrees in Kansas City and low humidity. Birds are chirping and $5.00 dollars sez the Royals will beat the Cardinals tonight.
Hot (85-95 F) with low humidity. But extremely poor air quality this week because of California’s forest fires on the other side of the mountains. Air quality (wood smoke) has been so bad that we’ve really needed to stay indoors with AC on all week.
Be careful of that smoke, we had it here a couple of summer’s ago and it took about 2 mos for my lungs to get to the point where I wasn’t gasping, sneeks up on you. The next summer I got one of those stand up air filters, it was amazing. Once you open it up and wipe down the blades you realize just how much smoke is getting inside your house.
We have those air cleaners in every room and it is amazing how dirty indoor air can get. The outside air is so bad that you’re advised not to exercise or work too hard outdoors. Lots of coughing around here… At times it is so hazy that you can’t see the skyline of downtown from a mile or so away. Some rain would be nice.
That really sucks. We had one summer here like that and it just ended up putting everyone in a bad mood after a couple of months, not to mention feeling pretty shitty. Looks like CA is just getting worse and worse.
scattered thunderstorms here and is 88 degrees wit light winds of about 10 to 20 miles per hour. staying in for the humidity is not tooooo bad as of yet but expected later on in the week.
Have today off from work so must get busy working here in the house…:o) like that is what I always waited all week for to do..
Turn 63 on the 3rd wondered what my mother did when she was about to deliver that kept her cool. Any how if I do not talk to you all before hand, Happy 4th of July. Stay well and safe and stay cool most of all…Awaiting the flood waters to hit in our area of the world from upstream. But we do need the rain…the corn must have it now. The cotton is ok so far. They have been combining the winter wheat and it looks like a good crop this year. The produce that is grown locally is doing well, as I have seen, but not many strawberries this year…am wondering why??!!
Have seen a few signs out for blackberries for sale. UUUMMMMMM good.
Anyhow… love ya’ll and hugs to all from northwest TN.
ps: had some rain here this am early. It was 97 degrees here yesterday…:o( humidity made it feel like 101
I picked up a flat of local organic strawberries yesterday on my jaunt to the coast. Blueberries coming on in a few weeks from same fields. Heaven! Our cherry crop this year hasn’t even showed up here.
I have to go to a local campaign BBQ on Monday and when asked, I offered to bring Tequila watermelon – answer was a resounding YES! For anyone interested, just scoop out a whole watermelon, add whatever fresh fruit you can find, toss with 1/2 cup of Tequila (I’ve been known to add more), let marinate for a bit, then pile it all back into the watermelon shells. Never fails to be a hit.
heh…easier way is to just ‘plug’ the watermelon…pour in copious amount of ta-kill-ya…or lime flavoured vodka… re-insert plug, let sit in fridge or cooler, turn occasionally, slice and enjoy.
and you’re right, always a ‘hit’ :{)
