I’m headed to Austin, Texas tomorrow afternoon. I haven’t been to Texas since 1993. I’ve never been to Austin but I hear a lot of good things about it and I’m looking forward to the trip. If the mood moves you and you like this blog, maybe you can chip in a few bucks to help me pay for the plane and hotel?
In any case, looking at the agenda I think it will be the best convention yet. The first was fun as hell and involved a lot of blogreaders. In Chicago last year it had morphed into more of a professional activist convention and people were really serious (except for Bob Geiger, Justin Krebs, me, and a few other Merry Pranksters). But this year it is really well organized and people are serious about taking power back for the first time, really, since 1994. It’s going to be hard work, but there are legions of dedicated, serious people that desperately want the chance to improve our country.
Have a great time, BooMan!
have a couple on me Boo ; )
make some good contacts, and let’s make a change
ps. take some next morning releif with you…
peace
I don’t know about Merry, but I can certainly fulfill the role of Prankster.
So I guess this means you’ll be spending the evening sorting through your massive Speedo and sunglasses collection to trying to find a matching Speedo and sunglasses combo for each event you’ll be attending.
that rings some kind of vague bell. Were hamsters involved?
oh my. i hope you observe a speedo sabbath on wednesdays, otherwise you’re sleeping in the hallway tomorrow. 😉
LMAO….as I recall a pic sometime back, Boo does’nt seem to mind where he sleeps, or what he has on….or not…
toss a pillow in the hall, that way he won’t be look’n for yours…
You’re coming to my (current) hometown! How fun and lucky you to be going to that convention. I’m jealous! It’s hot like hell (be prepared) as it was 105F yesterday… but..you’ll be indoors in the airconditioning.
I don’t know if you’ll be traveling with others or all by yourself. There are some places I’d recommend for eating or people watching but naturally, if you’re traveling with a group there might already be an itinerary. Still, email me for suggestions and I can give you the lowdown once you’re here. Some places have food I personally don’t care for but it’s one of those ‘must have beens’ (as Rachel Ray will attest with her ‘yummy’ to every food that’s put in front of her).. I have finally accepted the fact that here, you go out eating for the sake of either people watching or the music (music live capital!) or just going out for the sake of gabbing with others.. but then, I’m a spoiled cosmopolitan stuck in a not so cosmopolitan place. But..it’s home and it’s a great place to live and raise kids..
let me know Booman, my husband and I will take you out gladly..
have fun ya’ll (just master the ‘ya’ll’ and you’re set)
Ingrid
I can hardly wait to meet you!!!!
hey, refi. I’ll be in tomorrow night late but hopefully we can cross paths on Thursday at some point.
Oh We will if I have to have you paged LOL
Maybe we should plan on a little BT happy hour action…I’m looking forward to seeing you down there!
There are a couple of events being planned by the Texas Progressive Alliance and I am sure we can squeeze in some Frog Pond Time during Netroots. LOL
I’ll either be wearing my “Carne Asada is not a crime” t-shirt or red UFW ¡Sí Se Puede! one tomorrow. Gotta represent. heh
good to meet you earlier tonight at Drinking Liberally.
Found my old ID here, good as new.

It was good to talk with you, too. I knew I recognized your username.
OT;
John McCain today telling an audience in Albuquerque that “I know how to win wars”.
John McSame learned one thing getting shot down,
Not to do in Aerial Combat what he did right before he got shot down.
That was IT.
Everything else he “learned” has NOTHING to do with winning a war;
Absolutely Nothing;
To paraphrase Gen. George Patton;
“You don’t win a war by becoming a POW,
You win wars by making the enemy a POW.”
Once upon a time I may have thrown in a couple of bucks but I have to fill my gas tank today at $4.55 a gallon to get to work. But by all means have a great time.
