There will be no Iraqi athletes in Beijing for the Olympics. That’s a shame. So…what’s on your mind? Don’t be shy.

I’m pretty freakin’ pissed that Nancy Pelosi appointed Porter Goss to co-chair the new Office on Ethics.
She’s really sticking it to her base eh?
I mean how does someone wake up and say “I know. I’ll appoint someone totally enmeshed in corruption to head the Ethics Office. That’ll be great.”
Oh well, looks like Murtha didn’t have much to worry about after all.
I’m not sure how that worked. The pick was obviously made by John Boehner. Did Pelosi have veto power?
And Feinstein’s and Schumer’s support for Mukasey; another blunder? deliberate blunder? by the Dems.
They figured out what causes the Northern Lights.
I’m tired. I’m irritated that I have to work on my day off to make up for being laid off a day earlier in the pay period.
I’m tired and irritated about McCain getting the breaks for his screwups and Obama not getting enough credit for his accomplishments this week.
And to top it off, I can’t see my dear lady friend until Saturday. <grump>
Accomplishments like what? Shamelessly pandering to Israel while blowing off the Palestinians?
“There will be no Iraqi athletes in Beijing for the Olympics.“
It’s a complete outrage! It never bothered the Olympic Committee that the Iraqi team was completely run and controlled by Saddam’s regime. It never bothered them, either that athletes who were not sufficiently obedient or did not perform up to expectations were subjected to horrific punishments by Saddam’s sadistic son. Oh, no, THAT was not a problem. But NOW they decide to be strict about the rules.
Haven’t Iraqis had enough heartbreaks?! Can’t they be allowed just this one small source of pleasure and pride?
Air Force missile launch crew fell asleep
probably because they didn’t have a “comfort capsule” like the big brass wants. what’s a few hundred thousand dollars of counterterrorism money when the v.i.p.’s need a cozy retreat on those spartan military flights.
Well good. No one was launching missiles from North Dakota this week.
Guess this is what Rumsfeld meant by downsizing the military.
iraqis should be adopted by us. honorary citizens of usa-world.
also: doncha love gettin’ messages when you post, like this one, at boston.com?

“troublemakers: the new evildoers”
but hey! john mccain makes eggs disappear!
another low-rent call by chimpy and CONdi:
these people are certifiably nutzoid control freaks…no word on whether they went or not.
I’m frustrated in Michigan. A group is trying to get a reform proposal on the ballot in Michigan that’s very progressive and we’re getting hammered in the press from both sides.
so lets see- oil makes a dramatic rise frome 120 per bar to over 140 per bar and gas rises steadily to over 4.00 per gal!
now, oil drops from over 140 per bar but where the hell is gas?
Answer?
People are still paying for the $$$ futures contracts. Gas won’t drop until the newly-priced oil hits the refineries and then the distribution network, but then, that’s when supply and demand was a cornerstone of market pricing. The cornerstones of pricing now seems to be greed and hype.
Thanks. Greed! The magic word.
Don’t you find it fascinating that when it was going up(oil) the price of gas kinda just rapidly climbed also but on the way down, there appears to be a slowdown?
BTW- do you have any idea just how many refineries are off line at the present time?
