You know what I mean: Is today the day Obama picks a running mate, or more accurately tells us who he has chosen? God I hope so. At this point I don’t care who he picks, so much as that he picks someone, anyone. Our news cycle is filled with speculation, which I suppose is all part of the campaign’s strategy, but frankly I’m sick to death of assessing this candidate vs. that candidate on strengths, weaknesses, foreign policy experience, ability to win a state or states, blah, blah, blah.
I haven’t signed up for the email, but I’m sure some of you have so when you do get it be sure and post it to this thread. Then we can all get on to discussing something really important like, say, Obama’s terrible, all consuming ambition to be President (as if no other politician has ever run for office because they are ambitious). Sheeesh.
will it change anything?
Will Obama be allowed to win the election?
if he is allowed, don’t count on changes in Washington.
over the past 40 years the democorppublicans currency remains in circulation…. same coin different side.
I woke up at three a.m. with NPR reading from some survey that said that Obama was “too risky.”
“Too risky” = dangerous black man.
“Too ambitious” = uppity black man.
For hundreds of years racism has been one of the USA’s biggest exports. But it’s always sold well at home.
Then we can all get on to discussing something really important like, say, Obama’s terrible, all consuming ambition to be President (as if no other politician has ever run for office because they are ambitious).
Only the uppity ones.
NPR has been drinking the GOP kool-aid for the last 10 years – Cokie Roberts and Juan Williams held in their stable.
The primaries have served the Ad revenues. Now that it’s a black guy vs. a white guy, Obama has been rejected by the media. He uppity, elitist and un-American.
I guess it would be called negative advertising if Obama pointed out that McCain wears $520 shoes and owns so many homes he’s lost count
No question. Mccain is their man. Be prepared for McWars, more of the same.
Kaine on McCain’s House Gaffe: “He Couldn’t Count High Enough”
that’s hard hitting! need more of those.
Nothing wrong with ambition especially if you couple it with courage and determination and, if you are in a bare knuckle fight [like right now], don’t hesitate to take off the kid gloves. Or you may soon find your ambition thwarted noble though it is.
Since when wasn’t ambition a cherished American value? Some would see it as a defining value of our culture–for better or for worse.
Is Richardson out of the running? He has the foriegn affairs experience and he would win over the hispanic vote.
Off topic, but I just heard this on a popular Denver morning radio show-
(Paraphrase of a female announcer speaking in horrified tone)
So Barack Obama has a brother living in a hut in Africa on less than a dollar a month? I don’t know about you, but I don’t think I could leave a brother in those conditions. I mean he even wrote about this brother in his book saying he was a cute boy with a round head and now he’s living on less than a dollar a day in a HUT?
(Me again)
WTF? Has anyone heard this? I can tell you it’s speeding around the drone set a thousand times faster than McCain being unable to count his houses.
At least Obama claims him as a brother. Cindy McCain has two half-sisters but claims she is an only child.
I know, but I’m still picturing how the &*%^$#@ will portray him. I’m not writing it down though, in case I give anyone ideas.
I signed up for the text message. Then yesterday I got a text message out of the blue – I rarely get text messages, so I picked up the phone in a hurry, and it turned out to be text-message spam from someone running a porn/dating site of some sort. Grrrr.
Not according to this:
I think more than ever, it’s going to be Kaine. Meeting the staff? As a thank you? Nuh uh.
you didn’t share the best part of that article:
