Aren’t you supposed to leave some kind of indication if you delete something you’ve posted that someone else has responded to?
I know it’s a light thread and I’m not itching for a fight. Still, I thought that was kind of a widely-respected rule, if only for the sake of not making discussions unintelligible to later readers by eliminating the statements that were responded to.
I’m sure a simple “Oops — my bad” would’ve done the trick, and no one would think the worse of you for such an inconsequential slip.
(Not that it looks like there will be later readers of this anyway — but, you know, the principle seems important.)
I don’t really have rules. In general, if a comment thread is generated it is good to acknowledge an error. However, if a single comment corrects an error it is best just to fix the problem. The less important the issue, the less I care about it either way.
That looks to me like Nils Lofgren on guitar, not Miami Steve (aka “Sylvio”).
Which would make sense if it’s ’85, Lofgren having replaced van Zandt (temporarily, as it turned out) as E Street lead guitarist the previous year.
