Here’s my Top Ten list of Republicans I’d like to see lose tomorrow (that have at least a reasonable shot of being defeated):
1. John McCain- because that means we get President Obama!!
2. Rep. Virgil Goode (VA-05)- because of his histrionic anti-Muslim bashing.
3. Sen. Saxby Chambliss of Georgia- because of his campaign against Max Cleland in 2002 and his view of black people as ‘the other guys’.
4. Sen. Mitch McConnell of Kentucky- for being a total corporate tool and because he’s the leader of the obstructionist Senate Republicans.
5. Rep. Michele Bachmann (MN-06)- because she wants the FBI to interrogate Democrats for signs of anti-Americanism. Because she’s a hero of the loony religious right.
6. Sen. Liddy Dole- for running an ad that falsely accused her opponent of atheism.
7. Rep. Marilyn Musgrave (CO-04)- for her over-the-top gay-bashing.
8. Sen. Ted Stevens of Alaska- because he’s a convicted felon. Because I am very excited about the job Mark Begich will do in the Senate.
9. Rep. Steve King (IA-05)- because he’s a frothing-at-the-mouth lunatic and because his opponent Ron Hubler would be an awesome progressive replacement.
10. Rep. Charlie Dent (PA-15)- because his opponent Sam Bennett and I had a great time together in Austin, and I’d like to have a friend in Congress.
What’s your list?
my wish list?
I’d like to see them all lose, every single republican numbnuts bastard. That includes a number of DINOs too, like every single Blue Dog.
that would leave a lot of vacancies.
In the big sea of Washington she is but a very little fish, but I want to see my Representative, Mean Jean Schmidt, go down in flames.
The level of smartassiness (is that a word???) and condescension that I have received from the lackeys in her office has just been phenomenal. So the pleasure would be exponentially increased if she crashed hard tomorrow; knowing that the buttholes that work for her would go down too. Right now, it looks like she is probably going to win, but I’m holding out hope. When I filled out my absentee ballot I made damn sure to fill in extra dark the circle next to Vic Wulsin’s name. Didn’t want to take any chances the scanner might miss it. Schmidt has run the type of campaign that McCain and the Republicans simply love. Full of lies, rumor, innuendo and slander. She is just a total embarrassment.
She isn’t a top ten nationally, but it would be the cherry on my sundae if she was sent packing tomorrow.
ah yes, brings back memories of Operation Yellow Feather when I was just a wee tadpole in the pond.
Ahhhh yes, the good old days courtesy of BostonJoe.
And she can go to Hell with John Boehner.
All of the above. And I’d like to see our local xenophobe and ex-girlfriend stalker, Greg Ball, go down in flames. He’s even managed to piss off fellow Republicans.
I remember you doing a similar post to this in 2006 and JD Hayworth being on it. So glad that he was banished to an inner ring of talk radio hell instead of the Hill.
It would be a true miracle, but I’d love to see Pete King embarrassed by a 25 year old former intern.
Yes, he’s my least favorite congressperson and appears to be an obnoxious human being.
But since you’ve already nominated him, I’ll add Bill Shuster, PA-09, who inherited the seat when his father ran into corruption problems. His district is wherever in the state there are no people; it’s huge and sparsely populated and very red. I can’t find any polling on it, so I guess pollsters see it as a fait accompli. But he’s running all these Internet ads on leftish sites with no “Republican” label, and even his website, when I click through on the ads, has no label and no right-wing issues displayed. An uninformed person might easily conclude that he’s a Democrat. I can only hope that he’s done some proprietary polling that shows he’s in deep doodoo.
Hey all. We’re down by the Appomattox and will be headed back into the campaign office this evening for the late shift. Lots of activity.
Mr. AP said that we look forward to accepting Gen. Lee’s surrender tomorrow night. 🙂
Anyway, we’re surprised to see Eric Cantor’s ads on TV. Thought he was safe. Oh, I’ll LMAO even if it’s close. BTW, my parents just received a call from “Barack” reminding them to vote, what time polls open, etc.
As if they’d forget! I’m glad to see it anyway, even though both sets of parents have voted already.
Our list?
Since Eric Cantor had been elected my mom’s cousin worked in his office until just recently. I didn’t know much about him until my mom started parroting all the wonderful things her cousin fed to her. She scared my mom shitless talking about how “dangerous” it would be if we elected Obama and how my mom just had to do everything she could to convince everyone she knew to vote for McCain. She was a regular GOP talking point directly connected to my mom’s brain. I dug into his views and he looked to me like just another Bush-lovin’ GOP nut. And his performance for the cameras along with our local goon, John Boehner, during the bailout crisis was classic GOP craziness.
I will smile and do a shot of my favorite beverage if I see he goes down. And I’ll make sure to ask my mom how her cuz feels about it.
I’d like to see Rep. Mike Rogers of Michigan’s 8th district lose – I’m tired of being represented by someone who is for everything I’m against & against everything that I’m for.
Lieberman stripped of his chair. Homeland Security.
