It has to be a seriously slow news day when you find yourself arguing with an Englishman over the greater meaning of Sarah Palin’s turkey-slaughter photoshoot. I mean, seriously, how anyone can pretend that Sarah Palin isn’t a walking international punch line is beyond me. Steyn’s efforts define the wanking genre.

Saw the video. Am considering vegetarianism seriously.
I thought it odd, and I haven’t seen any commentary on it, that the shot was set up with Sarah off center to the left such that you got a clear very of the slaughtering going on in the background. That, and the fact that there had to be lots of other things to put in the background, tells me the TV crew set her up.
Do I care? No.
Does it mean she is not universally loved in Alaska? Yes
Does it mean she is clearly inexperienced and without judgment in dealing with media and presenting herself? Yup
But this was not an accident.
