Isn’t it Friday yet?
Of course it is. Just use your imagination. 🙂
Unfortunately, I’m having one of those weeks where I need it to last forever, because I’m working on a project with no clear objective. It’s the medical writing equivalent of shooting darts in the dark…
Thanks a lot Andi for putting a repeating loop of “Oh Tannenbaum” in my head (in the original German, of course).
Good morning, Andi and CG. Andi, I do believe that we’re about to get your bad weather. A winter advisory is out for later on today.
Here she is after I finally prised her from my finger. Their colors shift in the light giving the impression of everything from a golden to a bright blue-green carapace.
Drying her wings and her antennae.
May you all be safe & healthy
And may all your dreams come true.
These are my fondest wishes,
And I hold them all for you.
Always your friend
Santa’s kinda scary lookin’.
Not to children.
Probably not, but some children are scared of Santa.
that just gave 20 minutes of pure joy to my life, thanks for sharing the link
Happy holidays back to you, KNUCLEHEAD! Thanks for all the beautiful photos.
You are welcome.
Thank you for interacting with comments on them, that sometimes, also may trigger memories for others.
I’ll try to work on my spelling too;-)
I didn`t want to mention it, but I didn`t know if you were using a bush affectation as in knucular, or if I was some distant uncle of some sort.
No harm
right back atcha, knucklehead. those eyes have the same spark that come through in the many photos you’ve shared. i’m not surprised 😉
Thanks Manny,
It`s also the spark that gets me in trouble with the ladies.
(I meant, “used” to get me in trouble with the ladies)ahem
Hah, isn’t reminiscence great…
Speaking of reminiscence . . .
Knuckleheads not the only motorcycle aficionado in the group.
That’s me in the saddle and my sister in the sidecar.
And here I am at an even earlier age in my helmet and part of my father’s leathers.
The pictures of “biker chicks” are always great. The one of you in your father`s leathers is terrific.
Here`s one of my daughter in her father`s leathers, who obviously is not wearing any.
DOUBLE TROUBLE 1991
Double Trouble indeed. Unfortunately by the time I was your daughter’s age in the photo, my father had died in a motorcycle accident.
I was inordinately proud of this helmet. My father had painted the eyes on for me.
After decades of a flat stomach, I now have this belly again. Must be the dawning of my second childhood.
OH!Keres,
I`m very sad to hear that.
A few years prior to the image, my daughter & I lost her mom.
That`s when my daughter started riding with me in the hills & throughout Ca., where previously, she was only allowed on the trails on the ranch.
I would never allow her to ride now, no matter that she`s all grown up.
She`s the mom of my two granddaughters.
Me, people usually give me a wide berth. And that`s a good thing.
Carmen, who was just horrified that my daughter did not have a helmet, made arrangements to meet at one point, & presented my daughter with a top of the line baby blue helmet, but she never wore it.
Then the helmet laws were passed.
Personally, I hate those things.
It is great that you have the images & memories of your father. Making you look like a bughead & having you love it was probably a very proud & happy moment for him.
these are among the cutest photos I’ve ever seen. That little girl’s reverence of her father (which I never experienced and miss it even so) is so evident it makes me happy and sad at the same time. And as a mom I can never resist the bare feet and little slice of kissable tummy….
I adored my father, and he me. Everyone in both sides of my family said so. I haven’t gotten over losing him, even though I know that the person I’ve become would have conflicted greatly with his very macho right-wing views. I don’t think it’s just wishful thinking that I believe we would have butted heads (he was a Taurus and I’m a Scorpio, after all) but still respected each other.
Btw, that tummy still gets plenty of kisses.
I forgot to credit the image.
This image was taken by Rafael Carmona aka Carmen, for his book “THE IRON STALLION”. My daughter & I both have signed copies. I have also signed this image in many other people`s copies. Why they`d want my signature (like a yearbook) is beyond me though.
Yes Ask, Oh! yes.
Be still my heart.
I’ll take all the peace and goodwill ya got.
And then I’ll pass it on.
Happy holidays, Head. 🙂
That`s the spirit of my dreams & wishes.
Thank you very much.
Wishing the same for you and yours, Knucklehead!
Thank you CabinGirl,
I`m still looking for a pic of my “Cabin Tribe”.
I`ll post it when I find it.
The antlers were far too big for his tiny head.
is this the Down Under version to exact revenge for Shaggy the Reindeer’s toupe?
Rabbit “pelt”?! Good thing Hector can’t read.
Nah, we don’t need an excuse to vex our pets.
hee hee. That’s so cute.
Well we couldn’t really expect Hector to fill Albert’s … uh … ears right away.
We just returned home safely after sliding around town very slowly & carefully. We’re having an ice storm and advisories are up until morning. Look out on the way to work tomorrow if you’re anywhere in southern Indiana!
sounds like a good night to hang out at home, ID.
The streets are pretty well empty. I was thinking of JimF having to drive to work in the morning. I saw sand/salt trucks going out earlier and hope they got out their way.
Best to stay inside in such weather. Driving on ice isn’t worth the risk – I’ve seen far too many cars slide off the road. Besides it’s such good snuggling weather.
Very good advice! Our fire dept. has already worked one rollover accident earlier this evening. Nobody hurt, but a badly bent vehicle.
The roads were a little “greasy” yesterday evening, and evidently got worse during the night. I see Andi’s already told you I’m out of school today. It looks like we’ll be using at least one of our two built in snow days in the spring.
Be careful. We’ve had sleety and snowy stuff here all day…had to skip Drinking Liberally because of it.
I still keep hearing the plow/salt trucks go by every once in a while.
We’re having a warm spell this week with temps near 70.
Maybe I should come for a visit and bring my sandals.
we’re under a Winter Storm Watch here but I just snorted at the alert. It’s 56 degrees…
Heh – we should be so warm! Without getting up to look, I’m guessing its about 27 here.
Ugh. We had ice Sunday night and then light snow last night. Traffic nightmare. On top of which, yesterday was the first day of a year-long shutdown of a major interstate, so lots of people were driving around in the snow and ice not really knowing where they were because they were on brand new detours.
Be careful.
Ice probably means no internet for Andi and Jim.
and it doesn’t look too bad. The layer of ice is really thin. But thanks for the warning.
and CG you’re so close, you should have no trouble pretending it’s Friday.

Morning Andi and everyone else.
Two of our Alpacas went to visit the neighbor today. They got over a stretch of fence that blew down. Fortunately the neighbor brought them back. Then I propped up the fence with a stake. Before this I’ve returned his horse, twice, and one of those times it brought its sheep friend with it.
Once again, it’s our bed time. Although Hector is wide awake since his two most active periods are when we get up and when we go to bed. That’s why he has his own room, so we don’t have to listen to the racket.
I’d have left the alpacas and kept the horse.
Pleasant dreams.
I wish it were closer. I spent 12 hours working on my paper yesterday, and could easily put that into it again today. I feel like this will never end…and I need to get ready for the holiday.
Maybe we can draft Jim to help you with the holiday prep — his school is closed because of the ice. 😉
Love those unexpected days off! I’d probably go in anyway, even if the govt. shuts down, since I can almost see our building from the house. I can get three times the work done when the office is closed to the public.
We were surprised it wasn’t a two-hour delay — it just doesn’t look that bad here.
we opened on time. And a snow day wouldn’t have saved me anyway…
It looks pretty, though. I love it when everything is covered in snow and ice and the power stays on. 🙂
We’ve got a lot of ice-related school delays here, although, curiously, not that of the b2 boy. Driving was actually okay but a little nervewracking when the temperature started to drop.
What a disappointing morning for the b-boy then! I used to hate huddling around the tv on winter mornings waiting for our district to close, and it seemed like everyone else had a snow day except for us. 🙁
It’s still early in the season, so he didn’t notice his misfortune. Yet.
Nothing like some cool cycle pictures to put you in the Christmas spirit. 🙂
Good morning (?)
Overslept till 7.30. A little (too much) celebration yesterday. It is the season.
Eeek! We’re getting 4-8 inches tomorrow!
Yo! We’re probably getting 10 – 12 up here.
I’m sure it’ll be lovely, though. Better snow than a ‘wintry mix’.
Greetings to all & many thanks for delightful images!
It’s Friday, and Imogen’s last day of work for two whole weeks!
Luna gets her ultrasound today, then we’ve got an interview with the local rag about our Pet Therapy work, followed by my staffing a present wrapping booth (With my near perfect sense of geometry I am an awesome wrapper) to raise money for said Pet Therapy group. Plus, you know, errands.
Add “Dog Wash” to the above list. Luna just came to the back door with a very large, very disgusting greenish brown patch smeared into the side of her rough.
I love my dog, I love my dog, I love my dog . . .
I empathize – Giddy had her head inside a rotting dead deer today and I had to drag her away.
Hope you can drop back by and let us know how the ultrasound turned out.
I want a hand-picked edible bouquet for breakfast.
This week’s theme is All Things Food.
Things to eat being made, eaten, grown, sold and the places where all that happens.
You can give us something to feast our eyes or come stuff yourself by clicking here.
Is it really Friday? Is my nightmare project really over?
I think we need a new cafe to celebrate with…
