We’ll being hearing more about this in the days to come. The following post by Sam Stein on Huffington Post covers the story on the recount battle quite well.

I spent election eve watching the results come in (after working on the election itself), and even though the Presidential race was remarkable for its lack of tension, as it became apparent early in the evening when Ohio and Pennsylvania went for Obama, the Franken race turned into a nail biter and kept me up till the following dawn.
Since election day, Coleman has maintained his slight and precarious lead that has continued to shrink through most of the canvass and recount stages of the election process. Recent counts have made Coleman’s lead appear to grow once again, although this was illusory since challenged ballots remained in limbo outside of the pool of votes already certified. As the canvas boards ruled on these challenged ballots, Coleman’s recent lead of over 300 votes shrunk to just 5 or 2 — depending on which media source you believe.
Franken appears to have now assumed the lead, and the projected margin is now 89 votes, according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune (see link below).
