I didn’t see this coming. It’s kind of an interesting pick. I’m not sure what it means.

Speaking of the DNC, what is Howard up to these days? I find it shocking that he wasn’t given a good post in the new administration.
it seems like he is being marginalized
which is what a lot of people were afraid would happen to him if hillary got the nomination.
and look rahm is in a powerful position….also one of the people obama supporters didnt want to see get power and figured it would come to be with hillary.
those old strawmen are being torched one by one
Although I supported one over the other because of what I perceived to be important differences on several important issues, it appears now that they are two peas from the same DLC pod.
Dean was a creative thinker who dared to challenge the establishment and the traditional way of doing things. IMHO, he did more for the political process than anyone else in the last 25 years, but it didn’t win him any inside supporters. Quite the opposite.
Dean was the father of the multi-state strategy. And if Rahm is to take credit I guess Dean must be pushed aside.
Hopefully, Obama will remember.
No good deed goes unpunished. Apparently that’s true within the party hierarchy as well.
My guess is that he’s laying low until the health care deal is done, then he’ll take over HHS from Daschle. Did Howard want to stay on for another 4 years at the DNC?
from what i understand he wanted to stay….but there was no fight….he stepped aside like a gentleman…hoping he would get HHS….daschle got that….dean is getting squat…..im willing to give obama a couple years to work this shit out but damn im really upset about the dean thing…..he needs to be made universal health care czar or something….that would make me happy.
I’m sure that there are those who wold torpedo Obama’s healthcare initiatave simply to spite Dean if he was the point person, so I don’t have a problem with him being sidelined for now. If he’s still out of the game come 2012 the I will be annoyed, but so far I’m willing to give Obama the benefit of the doubt.
So far…
Obviously, having a strong deputy at the DNC will be critical until Kaine’s term as VA governor expires (he’s term limited). Any world on who that might be?
Kaine is anti-choice, anti-gay and anti-stem cell research.
Tell me again why everyone worked so hard to get the dems elected?
Howard Dean WAS the best thing that happened to the party in decades. Now the party is shredding up his legacy. Somehow I don’t see 2010 as an election cycle to look forward to.
Oh well. They didn’t want my money or support anyway.
About June I felt a pin prick my hope and change balloon, and it has been leaking air ever since.
hope and change
small change got rained on with his own .38
tom waits
Painfully apt.
