Ed. Note: Trigger warning: Video after the jump includes images and descriptions of violence and torture.
Ed. Note: This is part of a series of videos I got an idea for over the holidays, and spent that time putting together from images and video clips available from sites like YouTube, etc. These are from the documentary Torturing Democracy, which you can see in its entirety online.
After hearing about Dick Cheney’s downright smug admission to approving torture, the Senate report that Rumsfeld and others are vulnerable to prosecutions for war crimes, and the likelihood that they’ll get away with it, I thought it worthwhile to look at exactly what we’ll probably end up giving them a pass on.

So, should they be prosecuted? Why? Or why not? I’ll share my thoughts upcoming posts in the series.
Hell yes,
Prosecute them with the whole truth in the public square like any other criminal, who would never get away with a miniscule amount of criminal acts compared to these. No person is above the law.
The wonder of it all, is that it`s even being discussed.
Nobody discussed with the shoplifter, the car thief nor the rapist, justice was always served, not discussed.
These are crimes of the highest order, & ones that should be prosecuted in like fashion. The charged, should get the very best justice they denied their victims.
It is one of those great injustices the consequences of which will haunt us for a long time if we don’t look it in the face, own it, and atone for it.
But, doing so requires that we take a good long hard look at ourselves. And that’s not something we’re going to do.
Hell yeah, and then give back to them what they doled out to so many. Hell yeah. I cannot even watch the video.
Yeah. I know more about these techniques than I ever cared to, after four videos and one or two more in the works.
One thing I’ve noted. Of the officials and media personalities (Hitchens) who have actually gone and had themselves waterboarded, I’m pretty sure every single one of them said afterwards “This is torture. Period.”
The only ones who think it’s not, and just love the idea of it, are those who haven’t tried it.
Makes ya wonder.
“The only ones who think it’s not, and just love the idea of it, are those who haven’t tried it.”
Then there are those who love it, because they have tried it….on others.
Great work Terrance!!!!
I wonder if you’ve seen the petition for a Special Prosecutor that Docudharma and democrats.com are working on? We’ve got over 14,000 signatures and counting!!
