I’m tired of being freezing cold all the time.

This is one of many reasons why I’m a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. The team plays pretty good football too…
I didn’t get enough sleep and am running on fumes. I have a competition in a half hour that’s going to last 4 hours. 🙁
Try sleeping the Mall in DC with the wind blowing. 😉
And hey – why do you think I live in Los Angeles? Come visit! It’ll be in the 80s this weekend..! ;-p
Boo,
Did you turn your furnace down too? 😀
We started doing that here several years ago. Now I’m used to living at 62 degrees.
We’ve saved a few thousand bucks.
My husband was accustomed to it as well but since being sick he turned the heat up to 70.
I’m sweating to death in here.
Oh. Go Steelers.
Sounds like you need someone to knit you a sweater.
Here in S.E. Michigan we have had a very hard winter to date. Very Cold, and at the same time very snowy. We have already passed our average annual snowfall total for the winter, and it is still January. As I age, I find it harder and harder to get warm, once I have been outside for any length of time at all. I wear more layers in the house than I used to, often have a small heater on at my feet, and I’m still cold.
I’m not freezing. But I have been conditioned by the recent cold spell, that 34 F is a warm day.
You should give up blogging on the porch, at least until spring.
What would happen if, suppose, Judd Gregg is offered the Commerce slot, accepts, and before his replacement is selected in NH, Al Franken wins his legal challenges and takes his seat in the Senate. Would that mean that the committee assignments Gregg vacated might open up more opportunities for Franken? Of course if that’s so, then NH’s new senator would get shafted, but it’s kinda an interesting question…
me tooooooooo
i moved up my move to florida date to 3 weeks from now.
chopping the car out of ice yesterday sent me over the edge.
I was in Florida and the Caribbean for the last couple of weeks and was very surprised at the cold snap for 3 days last week. The day after the Inauguration it struggled to get to 50 degrees F max in Orlando – I think it was freezing point first thing in the morning.
While you’re sick of being cold, here in south-eastern Australia we are sweltering in a heatwave – record temperatures have been recorded in several major cities; train tracks have buckled in the heat; elderly people have dropped dead; the electricity network has failed. Adelaide, the capital city of the State of South Australia, has had temperatures each day since Tuesday of 43.2C, 45.7C, 43.4C, 43.1C and 41.1C. That’s 109.7F, 114.3F, 110.1F, 109.6F and 106F. To coin a phrase… “it’s too darn hot…” Nothing, of course, to do with global warming… 😉

An interesting concept, one I had not heard about until now and a good idea. I see there have been 45K voters to date.
We moved last month into a house with a massive black iron wood stove. Like your locale, we’ve had a few weeks or so when the temp didn’t go above freezing and a heat pump doesn’t heat in those conditions.
There was a learning curve on how much wood to fire in the stove. For a while there it was like living in a friggin’ sauna. The heat was so intense and dry my lungs started to burn. Going outside for more firewood was torture and I thought I’d surely get pneumonia from going out to 18 degrees and back in to 90 degrees.
Now we’ve learned to use less wood and put two big pans of water on top of the thing to add humidity. With less wood, you have to remember to keep adding it at just the right time or the fire goes out. Hubby says this is why Cuckoo clocks were invented. heh.
