Sen. Jim Bunning (R-KY) is one grumpy-camper:
Amid the soap opera-like drama that has become Sen. Jim Bunning’s (R-Ky.) political future, the lawmaker has commissioned the first poll of his bid for a third term — and he’s not releasing the results.
“It’s none of your godd—ed business,” Bunning told reporters on a morning conference call, when asked about the poll’s results. “If you paid the 20 grand for the poll, you can get some information out of it.”
The race to replace Rep. Adam Putman (R-FL-12) is heating up.
Rep. Heath Shuler (D-NC-11) is not going to run for Sen. Richard Burr’s senate seat.
New southern thread.
I think I’d rather have Tom Coburn in the Senate than Dan Boren.
Freshman Rep. Pete Olson fainted in the capitol gym and got a pacemaker. Olson serves in Tom DeLay’s old seat.
DCCC ready for a fight in TX-10.
After watching this thread for a long time, I finally have something to offer.

Justice has risen through the ranks, starting from a GOP gerry-mandered district to be predominately (D), but he has maintained decent bipartisan popularity across a larger geography. His chances are very good.
Young has been around for eons and is popular for the most common reason–he brings home the pork. That helps explain why he’s still office when (from the linked article) “Young is one of 34 House Republicans from districts that voted Democratic for president in 2008.”
At heart, I think Young is a moderate. If Obama remains popular, I wager Young will retire with accolades for his service rather than face re-election backed by a party led by Limbaugh and Beck.
Interesting piece on the courts by John Dean.
Interesting.
