Here’s the new talking point from the idiots who brought you torture, warrantless wiretaps, detention without trial, denial of habeas corpus, the unitary executive branch, the “Decider,” “Mission Accomplished,” the outing of CIA agents, voter suppression, a Department of Justice run like a law firm for the Mafia, illegal pre-emptive wars, and an allegedly drunken Vice President shooting people in the face (after not allegedly but actually telling a Senatorial critic to “Go F**k Yourself” on the Senate floor):

shorter GOP: “What? We’re illegitimate?”
shorter holder…yer busted!
troglodytes.
Good.
Now if only Geithner can get on board the transparency wagon, we’ll be set.
Projection.
Another day, another Republican talking point.
Every Republican that comes on tv and comments in the media have different memes. No message discipline at all, it’s kinda funny to watch.
Anyway, if I was a Republican, I’d be very careful with this line of attack. It’s just the same ol’ same ol’, but one wrongly placed word, or one turn of phrase, in the wrongs hands and it could become pretty ugly, pretty fast.
I’m imagining what pictures/slogans that your average wingnut would come up with?
These kinds of talking points will start resonating in the second or third year if the job markets don’t improve.
Jobs before justice, you bet. Do a poll. Crunch the numbers.
I’m just waiting for someone to come back at this “Banana Republic” meme with something about how this fits with a party that impeached over a blow job.
I’m really hoping against hope (and I’d pray if I believed) that the US public is smarter than they think we are.
They/We were last Fall.
The Rule of Law applies to everyone. It is shameful to see Republicans call the United States of America a banana Republic during a time of war. The Bush Administration theory is never to find the truth, but use any means necessary to silent your opposition. The enablers for President Bush must be prosecuted. President Bush had the opportunity to “Pardon” those involved in the writing of and authorizing torture. We can only conclude that either President Bush had unfounded arrogance to let those persons flap in the wind or he believed that he was lied too (doubtful of the second).
I believe the likes of John Yoo would welcome their day in court to prove their innocence and/or clear their name. And the American Public would like to see that no one is above the law.
