I was down in Memphis today and it was 102 in the shade. Talk about global warming!!!!!! ……and it is just the middle of June…..God forbid what it will be like in July and August.
I suppose we got our hare of the stimulus…we have a lot of repaving of our roads in our city as of late….just saying…since we have had not any since…well maybe in 8 years or so.
Jax, Fla NPR station reported on “about 100” tea partiers who demonstrated at Sen Martinez and Sen Nelson’s local offices today to protest a public option in health care. You have to wonder, of course, whether these people even know what they are protesting against! The group’s organizer spoke briefly of “too much government” “government out of control” & “the government is really only supposed to protect us.”
You might remember our local tea party group as the one which on July 4 weekend held a large rally featuring offensive signs comparing Obama to Hitler. (At least one of which is still visible at their website.) My favorite of their photos, though, has to be this one:
