What’s on his mind? Probably, wondering if it is worth it to appeal to the federal courts and delay Franken’s inevitable victory for several more months. But, do the Republicans really want to be labeled as obstructionists not caring one dime for the national welfare? I don’t think this would help Coleman’s political career or Pawlenty’s either. So many hard choices for the Goppers. So many nails going into their political coffins. What a terrible shame. Life is so unfair.
I doubt they told him to throw in the towel. Most likely, they just told him they weren’t going to write him any more checks, and that he was free to continue obstructing on his own dime.
l think ol’ norm looked at his options, and decided to call it a day. according to TPM, he may be considering another run for the gov. slot; pawlenty’s not running again…eye on the presidency and all…which is why he’ll sign the certificate.
continuing this all the way to SCOTUS wouldn’t have helped his standing among minnesota conservatives, let alone the general populace.

it’s about time.
SEAT FRANKEN
Thank heaven he conceded. I just wish I had any confidence that he’ll make a difference given the weak leadership of Harry Reid.
Finally, something to make me smile.
I think he will be fine Senator.
Somewhere, Paul Wellstone is smiling too.
Congratulations, Al. Let THE AL FRANKEN DECADE begin!!!
I honestly have to admit I was wrong, I figured Coleman would go all the way to the Supremes.
I want to know who in the GOP told Coleman to throw in the towel.
It wasn’t Coleman’s decision, I’m thinking.

Don’t go away mad, Norm. Just go away.
So we have our 60 seats. Now if we could just do something about those blue dogs that are tearing up the lawn and peeing on the shrubs.
