“I would urge conservatives in California to find a Democrat to run in every Assembly and Senate seat in California that can’t be contested by Republicans, and then to run a Republican in every seat they could possibly win, and then have an overt goal of creating a bipartisan conservative coalition,” Mr. Gingrich argues. “I’d do the same thing nationally.” –Newt Gingrich
I guess Newt has given up on the Republican Party. Now he wants to run conservatives in Democratic primaries.
I would urge conservatives everywhere to follow Newt’s advice. Because he’s always been right about everything. And he knows all about the situation on the ground here in CA.
I would urge Newt to stay away from the weed for a bit.
the current state of the RATpublican party reminds me of banksy’s 2005 london exhibit: Crude Oils: A gallery of re-mixed masterpieces, vandalism and vermin…without the janitor.
the race to the bottom continues.
Oh no. They’ve had sex scandals galore. Maybe a drug scandal could get us talking about legalization.
might sound reasonable on its face, until I remember that Newt is always and only in it for Newt, making this yet another cynical ploy to elect an ineffective legislature, as Conservatives who run as Dems will not vote the Dem agenda (whatever it may be, liberal, progressive, whatever).
We don’t need another cycle of a legislature so hamstrung by ideology that it cannot enact any worthwhile legislation.
What California really needs is a new Constitutional convention…and to enact a constitution that is rational.
The real question is how long have they been doing that for on the national scene? It explains a lot of our frustrations in the House and Senate. In particular look how easy CT Repulicans found it to vote for Lieberman after he lost the Democratic primary?
