   They did the right thing (removing Zelaya) in the wrong way (by gun barrel).

   A shitty matter all around.

     I disagree. I think some have taken at face value statements from sources I wouldn’t trust with a ten foot pole.

     Was he changing the constitution to get himself re-elected? That’s not how Al Jazeera expressed it:

     Zelaya was forced from power on the same day that he planned to hold a non-binding referendum on changes to the constitution.

     The country’s supreme court and congress opposed the public vote, saying that Zelaya was trying to win support to allow presidents to serve more than a single term.

       al giordano has been all over this, from the initial coup onward over at the field.  as realistic, and accurate assessment of what’s taking place as l’ve seen.

       What variety of apples? I’ve got Golden Delicious and Rome Beauty. They’re supposed to be a good combo for applesauce. Usually they ripen in October, but they are falling off the trees now. Golden’s are yellow and taste sweet, must be ripe, one month early. I also have Chenango Strawberry, but the Japanese Beetles ate most of them in August. They were also a month early. Do the trees know something about the climate that Republicans don’t?

   Did you read the comments section of The Hill article.  Lots of comments calling for a military coup to remove Obama from office.  He’s nine months into his first term and they already want an illegal, military takeover of the country because the President won a legal election handily and is not a white Republican male.
