Hello again painting fans.
This week we’ll be continuing with the painting of the Sedona butte.
The photo that I will be using is seen directly below.
I’ll be using my usual acrylics on 8×10 canvases.
Since last time I’ve continued to work on the painting.
I’ve started to paint the foreground with the reddish brown seen everywhere in Sedona. I’ve also carried the same color back to the details of butte itself.
The butte has also been painted with blue as seen in the shadowing of the photo. I am considering muting these colors a bit to suggest the great distance from the foreground. With these few additions the painting begins to take on some of the depth of the photo.
