Meanwhile, the Senate just failed to invoke cloture on the Wall Street reforms bill in a 57-42 vote. That’s fine with me, but it proves once again that the Senate can’t do anything. Maybe they will lose their Memorial Day vacation now, but I don’t give a crap. It’s more important to improve the bill by allowing more amendments. I’m sure if Rand Paul is elected that we won’t face these kinds of problems next year. It’s not like he’d filibuster any motion that doesn’t involve returning to the Gold Standard or anything.

Feingold and Cantwell voted against cloture.
what’s the current tally on the backlog of items, bills, appointments, etal, that the rats have stalled to date? reid needs to throw down the gauntlet and announce that there will be no recesses for the senate until they finish the business at hand.
then in january, the rules have to change.
this is no way to run a government.
Here’s the Roll Call.
In this case, failing cloture was a good thing.
Unlike healthcare, the longer financial system reform plays out the better it gets and the more obvious the Republicans (and Corporacrats) get with their covering for the banks.
In this case, progressives hold the cards because the public wants real financial system reform.
And Blanche going to a runoff isn’t going to hurt either.

Good for you.

Rand Paul came out as pro country club because of Tiger Woods and he would have voted against Civil Rights. In one day! This is not going to end well for anyone.
