Welcome to Friday Foto Flogging, a place to share your photos and photography news. We were inspired by the folks at European Tribune who post a regular Friday Photoblog series to try the same on this side of the virtual Atlantic. We also thought foto folks would enjoy seeing some other websites so each week we’ll introduce a different photo website.
This Week’s Theme: Random. Your choice.
Website(s) of the Week: Photocritic doing cool stuff with photography

Info on Posting Photos
When you post your photos, please keep the width at 500 or less for the sake of our Bootribers who are on dial-up. If you want to post clickable thumbnails but aren’t sure how, check out this diary:
Clickable Thumbnails. If you haven’t yet joined a photo-hosting site, here are some to consider: Photobucket, Flickr, ImageShack, and Picasa.

Love the long-legged spinners and the pretty pink posies.

Hi Jim.
That is gorgeous. Love the colour (esp against the green) and pattern.
My haul from the farmer’s market last week
My daughter
daughter in a box
That middle shot is fantastic — great use of framing and the opportunities of light and dark.
The food looks absolutely scrumptious and Ryan in a box … well I’m still working on my comment for that one.
daughter in a box — Well that’s one way to keep her from breaking something. Love the silhouette of Ryan.
I’m pretty sure there are laws against boxing your children. 😉
The silhouette is really whimsical, cute. 🙂 And love the colours of the farmer’s market haul.
The worse thing for pics you’re proud of is when they don’t get any love. While some of my pics on flickr had dozens of views, other right next to them had zero views. With some of them I kinda understand, with others I would hope for more. Here are some of those pics that have been “viewed 0 times” before I posted them in this thread:

Mannheim, Germany:
The Mannheim shot really stands out for me in this set — wonderful detail, lovely contrasting color, and great framing.
Ah, fickle flickr.
Love the Alps shot.

Maybe I need to go Mannheim — I always seem to like your shots from there. But in this set the water shot from Paraty, Brazil is my favorite.
Not the spider? 😉
The little shop across the way harbors a curious and unusual collection.
Love ’em.
If you look up tchotchkes in the dictionaries, you’ll find your pictures of Michael’s. 🙂
lol, those are fantastic. Looks like a cozy place too.
STRING SECTION
HIGHWIRE ACT 1
HIGHWIRE ACT 11
And now for the “Random” section, these images are all of the same fish,
a “Six Line Wrasse”, but in random background settings.
This wrasse rarely stops moving so one must pre-focus & wait.
When it swims through the focus range, “Click”.
Enjoy

A very sad Engineer Goby.
I put this series of shots together to show how many different corals are in the life of a single little fish.
The wrasse is less than two inches long.
All the shots were taken in less space than an old Cathode-Ray TV, so now, image the Gulf of Mexico, & what`s at stake.
I have really missed the delights of your reef tank. So while I love the pretty flower, it’s the others photos that make my heart go pitty-wrasse. Number #2 with its gorgeous reflection is especially fine as is #18 and its amazing combination of shapes and colors.
Thanks AndiF.
In #18 everything in the image is alive, but only two can move from place to place in the tank.
One is obviously the wrasse.
The other is a Tuxedo Urchin.
It`s the spiked ball with a bright green pattern on it.
It`s covered with debris it collects on itself as camouflage.
it is always “interestinger & interestinger”
That first string image is breath-taking.
Love the wrasse shots … pretty colours, jewels.
lol – you know I still clicked on them, right?
the spiders are the least of my worries at the moment, apparently my yard put a hit out on my life in the form of scorpionweed. Doc says my skin is severely allergic to it. Winter rains brought alot of it to my yard, now dried skeletons of death everywhere – gives me an excuse to hire somebody to clean it 😀
Well I figured you would but I gave myself plenty of cover so you can’t say I didn’t warn you. 🙂
Bummer on the allergies. I hope you get rid of the noxious stuff really fast and it never comes back.
Scorpionweed, ugh … that name sounds dreadful. Hope you’re feeling better.
w/ Elliott who is recovering from his Type 1 Chiari malformation surgery and working off a tiny netbook so I’ll only post a few images and recommend clicking thru on the semaphore ones for the back story as I have to keep an attentive eye on him in case he wakes up in pain or scared.

And at this point I’m gonna stop. Not because El is up but because this netbook I’m using is very difficult to use, what w/o having a mouse. Please visit my my photostream for all my latest and possibly some late added photos of El in the hospital if I can manage them.
Have a good night!
This is from late yesterday before I headed to where I was staying for the night. It made me feel better and hopefully, him as well!
Aw, poor little guy. A binky and Thomas the Train pillow would do the trick for me too. I hope he’s feeling better.
Looks like he’s doing ok! Sending good wishes for you both.
Ask him if I can have the train pillowcase to sleep on when he’s done with it;-)
A big “thumbs up” for the little man.
And thumbs up form us too. Glad he’s doing well. I loved the “before” picture. As always in your pictures of him, the camera loves him and he loves it right back.
One of my sixth graders who had suffered headaches, diagnosed as migraines, for years was finally diagnosed with a Chiari malformation and had surgery. Huge improvement! Hope you both get similar results.
Adorable photo. Poor little guy — hope he’s feeling better, and you’re rested up too. I’m sure it’s been a stressful time.
Aw, I hope he’s feeling better. He looks like he was a quite a trooper through the experience!
