Spain Wins World Cup, 1-0

I was pulling for the Netherlands but I’m just glad the thing wasn’t settled by penalty kicks. The winner was scored in the 116th minute by Andrés Iniesta of FC Barcelona. The ref gave out 14 yellow cards and one red card, but almost all of them were deserved. The first half, especially, was extremely rugged. Arjen Robben missed two chances to score, and Spain missed a handful as well. It was a much more entertaining match than the Spain-Germany semi-final, as the two sides traded possession and momentum throughout the match. Nevertheless, it wasn’t very free flowing until extra-time, when both sides were too tired to closely contest the ball. Congratulations to the Spaniards. The are World Champs for the next four years!
