Facts vs. Falsehood

It ought to be considered extraordinary that the Republicans’ response to the budget concerns of the Tea Partiers is to increase the public debt.

Republican leaders have heard the public’s anger at Washington, and they’ve come up with an election-year prescription: increase the federal debt.

You won’t find “more borrowing” listed as an agenda item in the House Republicans’ pandering “Pledge to America.” But sending the country deeper into debt is integral to their plan.

I’m sure you have friends, family members, and co-workers who need to see that link. It’s the time of year to post links like that on your Facebook wall, and forward them around to your email lists. We’re mainly combatting lies in this election. It isn’t a debate over facts. It’s facts versus falsehood. If people believe the Republican media and office holders, then we lose. If they have the facts, we win.

Also, if you can find video of Al Franken’s speech on the Senate floor today (about the Stimulus Bill), send that around as well.

Update [2010-9-29 14:28:52 by BooMan]: I found Franken’s speech. It’s excellent. Send it around.
