So, is immigration turning America into a Third World flop-house as radio host James Edwards says? Are there really any common interests white people have in this country?
“There is nothing wrong for Jewish organizations to promote the self-interest of Jews or black organizations to promote the interest of blacks,” he says. “There is no organization to stand up to advance the interests of the dispossessed majority.”
Okay, finally, what is it that we possessed previously but do not possess today?
I don’t know. The fact that I have no feeling of racial solidarity with fellow whites probably means I haven’t been dispossessed, do not suffer from systemic disadvantages, and don’t have the slightest need for any organization to represent the interests of my race.
What do you think?
Lol, common talking point among white supremacists such as James Edwards. “I don’t care if blacks are racist, they should be proud of their heritage; so why can’t I be proud of my white heritage?”
He didn’t say that, but it’s what he meant.
About America turning into a Third World flop-house, I get tired of liberals and conservatives who say America is turning into a “Third World” country, putting aside the fact that “Third World” is an outdated, meaningless term. Yes there’s massive wage disparity, yet despite that, America is still a better place to live than most of the developing world. I don’t take pride in my country in any sense as I’m anti-nationalist, but take a look at the rest of the world and get out of the America-centric viewpoint. Poverty is a relative term, and even people in poverty here still have it better than the middle class elsewhere.
This doesn’t mean America should settle for where it is, which is typically the conclusion I reach when I look through the eyes of a conservative (“Americans have it great compared to the rest of the world, be grateful you live here!”).
Also, immigration reform would be a nice start to help this “disparity”…so, you know, immigrants could compete in a real “free market” subject to benefits, labor laws and working conditions, and legal defense instead of being in the shadows and working under the table earning slave wages. This does amuse me, though. The racism of these fuckers acts like a shield in front of their eyes; they can’t realize how much they benefit from the effective slave labor that many undocumented workers undergo which improve the lives of the “White Man.”
“ America is still a better place to live than most of the developing world….take a look at the rest of the world and get out of the America-centric viewpoint. Poverty is a relative term, and even people in poverty here still have it better than the middle class elsewhere.“
Whether America is a better place to live, and whether poor people here have it better than the middle class elsewhere depends on what your values and priorities are. Certainly if you value material things more than relationships, a really rich family life, and time to relax and enjoy the small joys and pleasures of life, then America is a better place to live, and poor people here are not worse off than the middle class elsewhere.

I agree. I agree. I think this is absolutely right. But I also want to share a strange moment of atavistic fear I once felt. I’m sure we’ve all heard or read how whites will at some point be in the minority in the U.S. — and already are in some parts of it. Most of the time I hear that, I pooh-pooh it. Not that I disagree with it, but my response is: “So what?”
One day, though, maybe because I was distracted while pulling into the supermarket parking lot, I was struck with the question: “How might my life change if I were in the minority? Would I feel less moored, less entitled or something?” As you point out in your post, whites have long enjoyed, whether we acknowledge it or not, the privilege of being in the majority. Whether or not we’ve benefited in specific, explicit ways that we can point to, we have benefited.
So I pondered that a moment and then thought: “Well, that’s life, isn’t it? We’re none of us promised a life in which we enjoy the privilege of being in the majority. And I sure ain’t gonna fight change, or barricade myself into a white enclave (such as the Republican party).”
So here we go: swan dive into the future. 🙂
Hmmm. I really only meant to write “I agree” once.
Dontcha know?
Isn’t it obvious?
The unrestrained freedom to be bigots. The unrestrained freedom to openly discriminate on the basis of race, color, creed.
Oh those awful equal opportunity laws and political correctness. We can’t wear sheets with pointy heads and masks and burn crosses without being hassled anymore.
See, it isn’t so hard to understand the dogwhistles.
I think you have hit the bullseye here, Tarheel. When I sit and reflect on the whole big picture and take into account my personal experiences with those who claim this overt or implied “defense of culture” it is, simply put, the fact that they now cannot always assume that they are the company of those who will sanction and approve of their viewpoints.
I really wonder if this racial aspect of our culture will ever be truly marginalized to the extent that it is simply a rare occurrence? Probably not.
I think racism should be certified as a mental illness.

Slaves.
