You know things have gotten ugly when Sen. Diane Feinstein gets intemperate:
“The numbers have been agreed to, but it’s an opportunity for the right wing in the House to really sock it to women,”Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) said. “I don’t usually use this language, but I really believe this is true.”
My only question is, where has Diane Feinstein been for the last twenty or thirty years? This is really not anything new. The Republican Party doesn’t like women. They also don’t like gays, blacks, Latinos, liberals, hippies, Europeans (Old or New), Muslims, Hollywood, institutions of higher learning, school teachers, unions and union workers, government employees (local, state, or federal), people who don’t believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and the poor. Who and what else do the Republicans hate? Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, Ice Cube, Ice-T, Vaniila Ice, Milli Vanilli, Janet Jackson (her boob, anyway) and Urkel. They hate Alec Baldwin and Tina Fey and Barbra Streisand and Ed Asner and Gumby (probably).
The basic idea is that they hate and dislike pretty much everything and everyone.
Also, too…AHMEDINEJAD!!! CASTRO!!! SADDAM!!! CHAVEZ!!!
So, yeah, if you aren’t one of them, they hate you and don’t care if you die of cervical cancer, a problem pregnancy, or a 500 lb. bomb.
Is that the right link? Because I don’t see the Feinstein quote in the linked article.
I’m mostly curious as to whether or not she was bowlderized for her quote in the article. Because using a phrase that Richard Nixon uttered on Laugh-in back in ’69 isn’t the kind of thing I would think a normal person would feel needs to be followed up with the phrase “I don’t usually use this language”.
Sorry, I fixed the link. Here’s another.
They LURVE rich christian men. I didn’t put race because as long as you are rich and Christian with a capital C all else falls away.
Boo:
You are 100% correct. And Feinstein has been around forever. She’s not a newbie. And it’s what pisses us off about Democrats. They never understand what the Pukes are all about. There is no strategic thinking at all.
I’m with them on Milli Vanilli.
Feinstein is a former supervisor and mayor in San Francisco, easily the most reviled city in America (and perhaps the world) for your average Republican. If she hasn’t figured out by now that the main Republican MO for firing up their base is hatred and vengeance, she is frighteningly insulated from the world as ordinary Americans experience it.
Oh, and she became mayor because her predecessor was assassinated as part of a Republican hate crime. What does she think is new about this?
Exactly. They made a movie about it.
if di-fi’s serious, she’ll take ALL the cuts off the table, as atrios suggested re: mccaskill.
If we’re gonna shut down the government, start over from scratch.
This gutless display concerning Planned Parenthood, where leadership won’t allow a vote and won’t even admit that they’re targeting planned parenthood, is a remarkable instance of venal cowardice on the part of the party apparatus, even for Republicans.
You’d almost think they were Democrats!
Just to be snarky, but one would think they would want to add to the funding for Planned Parenthood as 97% of their services are geared toward pregnancy prevention and certainly they realize all those ‘poor people’ will be having little Democrats!
‘Course this is the Party that whenever in powers cuts funding to 3rd world countries for birth control.
Feinstein is a moron who has no clue how evil the Republicans are doesn’t understand that they can’t be negotiated with.
Unlike Obama, who…
Never mind.
