The Weekly Standard is still pining for Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) to run for president. Now they’re publishing their readers’ emails. When was the last time a sitting member of the House successfully ran for president?
Isn’t it a little late in the game? I don’t know that Ryan would even have time to get on the ballot in some states. New Hampshire’s filing date will be over by next week. At some point, people need to come to grips with the fact their choices are set. They’ve got a choice that includes a human flapjack, a guy who sold the world’s worst pizza, a woman who thinks democracy in the Arab world is a bad thing, a guy whose name evokes images of a frothy mix, a disgraced former Speaker of the House, a Texan so stupid he makes Bush look smart, and friggin’ Ron Paul.
My advice is to stop bitching and get behind Romney. He’s the worst flip-flopper in the history of politics but he can probably keep it close and he might even win. I don’t think any of the other candidates are a lock to even win their home states.
