Welcome to Friday Foto Flogging, a place to share your photos and photography news. We were inspired by the folks at European Tribune who post a regular Friday Photoblog series to try the same on this side of the virtual Atlantic. We also thought foto folks would enjoy seeing some other websites so each week we’ll introduce a different photo website.

Dante’s Bonfire
Wow! Very cool shot.
Wow!
Radiant!
Marshmallows! S’mores! Nice shot!
These might be a little disjointed.
I may have lost track of where I was at some point.

Another fine set. My favorite is the third Malibu fire — it’s so evocative. Close behind was the first Malibu earth.
Beautiful. Always look forward to your sets, Head. 🙂
My favs are the 5th one down – that red ball in the sky is perfect, and the windmill. Lovely.
I can’t really pick a favorite out of a great set, but Fireday the 13th makes me think of the book Young Men and Fire by Norman Maclean.
Yes, it does. What a tragedy. Another was the South Canyon Fire at Storm King Mountain near Glenwood Springs, CO in 1994. We visited the site the last time we went west.
I like the feathery ocean sentinels of Malibu Wind #2.

Great photos for the theme. The dam shot is my favorite. Love those all those edges.
Indianadem,
I like that damned shot too.
Agreeing with Andi and Head – love that damn shot!
Nice pairings. Continuing a theme, damn that dam shot is nice.

Love your selections for fire and water … fantastic!
Beautiful air with the soft blue in the background — can’t believe you have fuzz already!
You got me for a minute with the woodpile. At first I thought it might be another creek bottom shot, then I saw the enlarged version. Time for new reading glasses!
I like the delicate simplicity of earth.
JimF,
Excellent interpretation of the theme.
The fiery flower, and visible air are my favorites, Andi.
Olivia, lovely set, I like the earthly occupant photo. Finally you’ve taken a picture of an animal in your hand that I think I can do too.
Ha! 😀
Andi, I’m a sucker for misty enchanted forest photos. The blooming dogwoods are a nice accent, too. Also like the little green umbrellas that sometimes shelter those elusive morels.
Don’t tell anybody but that’s mist over our enchanted septic field. 😉
I thought that grass looked awfully healthy for a ridge top forest meadow!
Owe me a keyboard and a monitor!
Come visit me and I’ll be glad to give you my old packard bell keyboard and monitor. 🙂
And thanks for the info on that photo.
the fiery sky is lovely, olivia!
Thank you — was an early morning outing, something I don’t do too often … 😀
One lone cloud
Pretty!
Thanks. I was amazed I was able to get away from an office or a conference room long enough to enjoy an evening. 🙂
Beautiful escape from a BCROD*.

Lovely group of photos. Where was that third one taken? It’s wonderfully lush.
Green Spring, Enterprise, Florida.
That’s beautiful — the colour of the water is amazing.
Love the blocks of colour in the bottom photo — green, beige, blue.
They’re all great, but I love the mood in air.
Earth: Here’s a section of Anasazi dipper from Arizona, circa A.D.1000.
Very cool. Did you find that on one of your hikes or were you somewhere it was being shown?
Thanks. No, bought it somewhere out there years ago.
How neat — does it have any pattern on the other side/inside?
No, it’s equally plain inside. I have one with painted patterns that is actually pretty cool but probably wouldn’t make for such a nice crusty image.
When I first glanced at the photo. I thought it was a piece of a skull. Maybe I’ve been watching “Bones” too long. Neat shot.
No, no skullduggery here. 😉
yea, verily, the dreaded tax man hath dominated my w/e but it’s break time.

Definitely better late than never — well worth waiting for such a fantastic set.
The bridge shot is truly a standout — the reflection of the light on the railing and the concrete (?) below pulls one right into the picture.
And the sun setting behind the clouds and mountains is such a difficult and perfectly executed shot.
Great arrangement of photos. I like the way the curve at the top of fire and the bottom of cold water mirror each other.
I’m drawn to the mist enshrouded crag. Nice set dada.
Beautiful set d … they’re all wonderful, but I’m most drawn to the first one (gorgeous, love that photo) and the snow-covered branches over the creek/river. Wonderful.
