Last night at the Nerdprom, President Obama asked, “What’s the difference between a hockey mom and a pit bull?” His answer? “A pit bull is delicious.” It was a reference to the lipstick joke Sarah Palin told at the Republican National Convention four years ago. With the passage of time, however, I think of Palin much more as a pit bull than a hockey mom. Of course, I guess her joke was a warning on that score. In any case, I think Obama’s joke worked on several levels, some of which it shouldn’t have.
He also said that Hillary Clinton wouldn’t stop drunk-texting him from Cartagena. I wonder if the few remaining PUMAs will have a sense of humor about that one.
I think it also had the added benefit of being response to Palin on Fox news trying to use Obama eating dog in Indonesia. Funny enough I think that a sore subject for Michelle and she was not a fan of that joke!
My actual fav was when Obama name dropped Young Jeezy (google My President Is…” and no one outside of the urban press and any young people or music celebrities know who Jeezy is. If Fox News thought Common was a radical thug, then Jeezy would signal armaggadeon!
I would loveto know how many commenters here know who Jeezy is without googling him and if so what age they are

doesn’t surprise me BooMan, you’re not in that demographic. New hip hop is not the cup of tea of certain ages of white guys. Younger white guys though are the number one consumers of “new” hip hop music. So that joke will be funny to them. Another sign that unlike Mitt POTUS is an actual young man and better connected to the youth culture.

I know who Jeezy is, but I’m not much of a hip hop fan beyond old school stuff like PE, KRS-1, Tribe called Quest, De la Soul.

Being both Native and a widely traveled man, I’ve eaten dog – in VietNam, in Korea, in Mexico (stay away from those border burritos, folks). It isn’t bad. It isn’t good, but it isn’t bad. And while I don’t know this for a fact, I have heard that when done right Republicans taste just like pig.
I raised pit-bulls for many years, and my son continues to do so. I have never seen Palin as a pit-bull, lip-schtick or no. And as a bear hunter (see my name, yes, it is) I could never see the pig-bitch* as a “Mama Grizzly”. No matter her varied attempts to brand herself, to blow dog whistles at whom ever it is she blows, when I think of her the picture that comes to mind is the American Jackal – a Weasel.

I’ve never thought of Palin as either a pit bull or a hockey mom. I’ve always thought of her – since she hit the national stage, anyway – as an idiot who has a niche talent for making people feel proud of their ignorance.

Funny, I watched the video, and I didn’t hear anything about Clinton “drunk texting” Obama, just “texting”.
I assume Booman watched it, too. Is there a third person who can jump in to say whether they heard “drunk texting” or just “texting”?
