Barack Obama has been president for almost three and a half years and his administration has not had anything remotely resembling a scandal. That’s why the right is reduced to talking about his birth certificate. There really aren’t even any phony scandals. A clean-enregy company went broke after receiving millions of dollars in funding. Big deal. The only thing the right has to hold on to is this stupid Fast and Furious investigation. Admittedly, the Department of Justice gave erroneous information about that program to the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform. And that committee has now in a party-line vote decided to recommend that Attorney General Eric Holder be held in contempt by the entire House of Representatives.
I didn’t predict this, but I should have. What were the chances that a black attorney general could serve two consecutive years during Republican control of the House without being charged with contempt?
The chances had to be about zero. They started accusing Holder of being a racist before he got his parking assignment at the DOJ. Go to Google and type in “Eric Holder racist” and you get 2,470,000 results. Type in “George Wallace racist” and you get 400,000.
The GOP is a southern party, folks, and not enough has changed.
Apparently, the last cabinet member to be faced with this situation was…Janet Reno.
So, to sum up, if Republicans control a chamber of Congress:
How is that not the scandal? How does the media live with itself for the way that they’ve covered the institutional racism of the GOP in reaction to a black President and now a black AG? Do they not realize how their conduct is going to be portrayed 50 years from now? It is just every fucking day.
The media are Ferengi, normal rules of morality do not apply to them.
How does the media live with itself? Look at most of them. If they are non-white males, who are a lot of them? Mrs. Alan Greenspan(aka Andrea Mitchell). Diane Walters. The point being that even in the case of Mrs. Greenspan she has long forgotten what it’s like to be part of the 99%. In fact, if you know anything about Mrs. Greenspan, she should be sympathetic to the plight of Obama and Holder. But her mind has been clouded by money and being a Villager.
Holder was one of the appointments I was most excited about — though he’s been a bit of a disappointment to me because I had higher hopes on civil liberties and “looking backward” — but I still think all things considered he’s done a good job. If Clarence Thomas would like to witness a real public lynching, this is it. Disgraceful.
You don’t have to be a Southern party to be racist. You just need to also campaign in suburban rings around major cities. The GOP attracts racist votes all over the country now. And Darrell Issa is from (whoops) Southern California.
It is this Southern party illusion that keeps making progressive Democrats over-confident and under-performing.
It’s times like this when I almost wish Obama wasn’t so conscientious and went all Nixon on the Republicans’ lying, projecting asses.
No need to go Nixon on them. He just needs to go Full Metal Truman on them. Give ’em hell, Barack! (Please!)

If F&F ended under bush, but was started again (I don’t care what the name was) under Obama, then that’s another FAIL.
It’s a fail overall, since Obama is OK with continuing the expensive, hopelessly wrong “war on drugs” in Mexico and Central/South America.
It’s one more example of major policies which never change- regardless of who is in charge at the white house.
