Right now, I’ve got nothing. So, we should probably have a thread for people who want to earn three or more pinocchios from Glenn Kessler. All irresponsible speculation and uncorroborated allegations are welcome.
Who will Romney pick as his running mate, and why?
Jena Jameson — because doubling down on Palin is always a good idea.
Hey — every bit as likely as the other female candidates being tossed around.
And this was a quid pro quo thing, right?
Sen. Portman (OH)
Right. Probably because of that thing with the goat.
OH’s electoral votes more likely.
Colbert referred to this ticket as “the bland leading the bland.” (Not true of Jameson.)
I thought they’d already settled on Rafalca?
General Patraues (spell?) is getting some press lately as a good choice for Mittens. I suppose he could use the macho glow of a retired combat general to enhance his otherwise privileged profile. Why didn’t he serve again? Oh, yeah. He spent his formative years in the French countryside. There’s a manly image for the tea party faithful to admire. I also hear the republican hierarchy is courting Palin and Paul the younger to speak at the convention. I can’t wait for the crazy to be unleashed on national TV.
Dick Cheney, because he just got a new heart.
Of what use would that be to the Republican faithful?
…Paul Ryan – because Americans are (GOP believes) that dumb.
Oh pretty please!
I’ve been hearing a lot of noises about Ryan lately. Plus, he’s been quiet about the massacre in his district. Probably doesn’t want to offend anyone.
Still, going with Portman.
Kidding aside, I think you’re right. A sad reflection on the state of affairs in the Republican party. But good news for us. Their bench is pathetic.
Bob McDonnell.
Someone who is adored by the base and likely to lose his seat in November: Paul Ryan or Eric Cantor
BTW, the latest PPP shows Obama with a 3% (i.e. well within the margin of error). It’s got the media a-flutter nonetheless.
What do you know that I don’t about Cantor possibly losing?
They can’t go Mormon/Jew.
Romney/Bachmann.
That would certainly put cognitive dissonance to the ultimate test.
::
why not go to central casting and choose… rick perry…aka gov good hair.
what’s not to like? he’s just as vacuous and empty suited. plus he’d lock tejas and the talivangicals in.
It all depends on what Romney wants the VP to do and I’m thinking he wants an attack dog that will stand by the door to the Oval office and ward off media so he can make his deals for himself.
Chris Christie.
Pawlenty. Won’t overshadow or embarrass him.
What a sad commentary that would be. And what a strange spectacle — two men, each more dull than the other.
