Hello again painting fans.

:::Sigh:::

I had intended to show further progress of the Kent, Connecticut street scene (w/Lotus) but I just can’t.  Oh I could show you something but it would be sad.  I tried to paint the reflections on the Lotus but they did not turn out well.  And then I tried about 8 more times.  Literally, about 8 times.  8 times repainting the entire body of the car.  The paint began to get a bit too thick.  And after all that, the reflections looked instead like some rascal had spraypainted the upper surfaces of the car, not the look that I was going for.  I wasn’t at all happy and started an entirely new painting for this week’s cycle.  The photo that I am using is seen in the photo directly below.  Yes, yes, it is a Victorian house in Cape May, New Jersey.  (What else?)  But what a house.  I call it the house of the three turrets, found on Howard Street if you are in the neighborhood.

I will be painting this piece on a conventional 8×8 inch canvas using my usual acrylic paints.

I started with an outline of the scene in green.  Long time readers will know that I usually start in blue so this is something of a departure.

The current state of the painting is seen in the photo directly below.

I’ll have more progress for you next week.  See you then.

Earlier paintings in this series can be seen here.
