Welcome to Friday Foto Flogging, a place to share your photos and photography news. We were inspired by the folks at European Tribune who post a regular Friday Photoblog series to try the same on this side of the virtual Atlantic. We also thought foto folks would enjoy seeing some other websites so each week we’ll introduce a different photo website.
This Month’s Theme: Hands suggested by wilderness wench..
Link of the Month: The Art of Time-Lapse.

That’s a beautiful shot and feels quite serene.
Lovely!
Yes and conveys a feeling of peace and contentment. Also, could be a scene at our house just about any evening around bedtime.
Thanks guys. One night watching some Netflix it just happened and usually I’m not fast/quiet enough to catch it, but the camera and flash were together on the table.
Love the levels of depth, both the grayscale and the emotion, in this.
Aww, love this Bob! 🙂
Andi, Olivia, great pics! Especially love the one with the shadow of the weed!
You guys really got me wondering why I never photograph hands… but then I remembered the statue photos and actually found a few. Here they are (click for larger version):

btw, I have a theme suggestion for a future fotoflog: spiritual – this can be interpreted in all kinds of ways, so it should make for a wide array of photos.
Nice photos. Very good post. Thanks for this article.

Thanks, Sven (and thanks for the theme suggestion!)
I love the turtle shot.
You have a great eye for picking just the right scenes! Love the whimsey.
Great framing, glad someone is helping the turtle.
Great set! Good eye.
Those are fantastic Sven! Nicely done. 😀
Its been a while but I don`t mind having a hand in it.

Goodnight to you all.
I`ve been working long hours on a new project & have not had much playtime.
Presently, with this job, it`s All Hands On Deck.
Enjoy
Any set that includes both your grandkids and a blenny is my idea of perfection. 🙂
Hands On Ice Cream (here and in all its previous incarnations) is one of my all time favorite shots here. Dude on the John Deere is a fun one too.
HANDsome set.
Awesome shots Head … 😀 Hope your new project is going well.
Olivia, my friend,
I don`t take on projects if I cannot be a positive force for them.
This project is a prime example.
I love it, no matter the time it takes out of my leisure lifestyle.
Hah.
The commute to work consists of about 20 minutes along the coast & then about 15 minutes through agricultural land.
One thing is the memorials along the way.
I believe there are 9 or 10 on the journey.
I`ve been recording them.
Here are the last two, one with a little poem.
Christian strangers erecting crosses
Commemorating other`s losses
Sometimes seems of festive air
For departed souls going nowhere
A waste of time for some it seems
For those who only die in dreams
(me)
This last memorial was erected recently & on a spot where one week earlier, traveling at night, I witnessed the wreck that brought this one.
Hands on Rocks at Beaver Creek
![](http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8313/7987427130_1b11d95dc2.jpg)
The water looks like it just melted out from a mountaintop.
Creeks were made to play in, weren’t they? Looks chilly, except for the bare footedness.
Fishing the hard way?
Hi NDD! Agree with Andi – that water does look refreshing. 😀
I’m not even going to try to relate these to the theme.
I spent all of July and a bit of August in Sweden, in the countryside near the village of Borlange (should be an umlaut over the a, but I am too tired to figure out how to do that). I was there attending a series of five very intensive workshops on the practical application of Operant Conditioning, and managed to take some snapshots during breaks, and days off, and sometimes took advantage of the long hours of daylight (which made it very difficult to keep track of the time, and get to bed at a decent hour!). Sadly, I had forgotten a lot about how to use my little camera, but some of the shots came out nice anyway.

Hurria,
Very nice.
Thank you for the nice surprises.
What a lovely place for a conference.
Looks like a beautiful spot to be. Lovely rainbow over the deep red buildings.
I’ve gone to a couple of conferences with nice settings, but most have been hotel conference rooms at airports or in areas where concrete is the dominant sight to see. Looks like you had one of the great settings. I’m glad you had the time to get out and see it and share it.
The facility where this took place is part of a historic site called Rommehed. It was originally a military base, and the buildings go back to the 18th & 19th centuries. The buildings are privately owned now, but the owners are required to maintain their historic integrity. I stayed in a small house on the property that was a former officers’ home, and the workshops were held in a former barracks. I wish I had gotten better pictures of the buildings, especially the inside of the barracks, which has a really interesting structure.
Those are beautiful Hurria!
My dog, Jacques, had his own adventures in Sweden (including going out the open bedroom window one night in the middle of the night while everyone was asleep – but that’s another story). These shots are not mine, but were taken by an Italian colleague, Margherita Pescollderungg. I wanted to share them because he was a big part of the experience, I love them, and they portray him so well.
PS In case anyone is interested in what we were doing in Sweden, you can take a look at my blog of the experience, which sadly is not as comprehensive as I had intended – reality prevented that.
He looks exquisitely happy (and very well groomed — if I had a dog like that, he would be a one great big tangle).
Puppy dancing!
He’s adorable!
Looks like I screwed up the link to my blog. this one should work better
Shared with my California cousin who is an amateur horse trainer. Its a very intriguing chronicle ~ thanks, Hurria!
Has your cousin done clicker training* with horses? It’s such a great alternative to more “traditional” training methods, doesn’t employ force or pain of any kind, and works magnificently. Alexandra Kurland is one of the big names associated with clicker training horses.
I haven’t heard her mention it. I’ll be sure to pass along the name and ask her about it. Thanks!
Alexandra is the trainer of Panda, the guide horse. Panda is one of a handful of miniature horses acting as guides for blind people, and was trained using clicker training. Here are Panda and her handler Ann on Rachel Ray’s TV show.
Clicker training is used to train everything from basic ground manners to jumping, dressage, etc. It’s also by far the best way to work with fearful horses – much more humane and effective than the flooding techniques that are commonly used.

The hair-holding shot is a great capture.
Yes, and great theme photos all.
Nice set Jim … 😀 I love the last one best … Tiny hands!
Hands large and small
Little hands are so cute.
Don’t you love it when they grab a finger and hang on?
As a matter of fact, yes I do. 🙂
Awww — is this the newest grandbaby?
This shot is Mrs. ID holding granddaughter # 1 nearly 10 years ago! Don’t have any closeup hand shots of the new kid as yet, but gimme a little time;-)
😀
Looking forward to ’em!
Nice “hands” AndiF! Love the “Helping Hands” – a recent wedding party shot?
Interesting variation on the theme, olivia. Similar little hands got into a bag of peanuts very quickly yesterday after I forgot and left them on the front porch. They took the quick route through the bottom of the bag.
Yep, that’s my great-nephew getting ready for his role in his aunt’s/my niece’s wedding.
It’s my favorite shot this week.
Thanks, Bob!
LOL, they are sneaky sneaks and smart to boot aren’t they. 😀
