The look on (whichever) son’s face is priceless. That photo shows Obama standing and talking in front of them. I wonder what was being said at the time this photo was shot.
Ann looks like she’s wearing draperies. It might be that she’s wearing clothes so expensive that ordinary ppl don’t recognize them as clothes. I’ve seen clothes in expensive boutique windows like that – they just looked weird to me.
I wasn’t sure if it would be rude for me to suggest it but, yeah, I thought of draperies or a shower curtain at first.
In other photos of her she’s not wearing that thing and her hot pink outfit looks an awful lot like Michelle Obama’s hot pink outfit. I doubt they called to coordinate their wardrobe. I wonder if Ann’s miffed about it.
yes, I noticed the similar colors at the very end but ended up watching it on the internet and they cut the picture immediately. Very disappointed not to have a good look at Michelle’s dress. Ann was probably mad about that because Michelle always looks so great; also probably thought Michelle isn’t allowed to wear reds/pinks during the campaign. Hah hah!. Michelle and her dress, from what I saw, were stunning.
amazing! thanks. It may be the same dress with different jackets – Ann’s draperies and Michelle’s matching jacket. If so, did they plan it? Ann has expensive clothes but doesn’t look comfortable in them.
They may just be “Undecided voters.” The photos at Getty noted son Ben sitting on left of Ann and son Matt sitting on right. No mention of those other people that I noticed. They could be guests of someone though because that does look like a guest seating area.
Ann should have left that drape on when she went on stage afterwards; the pink dress without it wasn’t flattering to her, especially around the midriff.
And I say that as a woman with more midriff than I like.
Nothing wrong with the color except there seems not to be agreement on whether it was green or turquoise; either would have been fine, although a deeper shade might have been better. The problem was that as a plain string of glass beads, it failed as edgy and just looked cheap with the expensive dress.
There was a series of photos on Huffpo (not linking b/c it’s Huffpo). The necklace seemed to be a light blue as was her nail polish – a blue-pink statement of sorts for the debate. But necklace color with the pink of the dress just looked mismatched imo.
Those women look like the Brides of Frankenstein. Those Mormons must be a horny lot. I wouldn’t touch one with a ten foot pole. I bet the Pole wouldn’t either.
I just reviewed that part of the debate on the DVR to find the “leave early to make dinner” bit in the earlier thread.
And. Just. Wow. Now we see that even his great original idea to actually hire some women to leadership positions was a load of crap, too. He had to be pressured to do it.
And the polls have been showing women moving from Obama to Romney. I am really confused by this. This needs to be dissected and made into ads. It even infuriates ME as a brother, son and grandson of women who work(ed) for a living. I have never even known an American family with the rigid gender roles that Mitt seems to believe as normal, except on fictional TV shows. Wake up, ladies.
From what I’ve heard and read, whatever gains Romney is making with women seems to do with economic concerns. Again tonight in the snap polls, respondents gave Romney higher marks on the economy, taxes, and I think even health care, all of which is just baffling to me. It’ll be interesting to see how these numbers hold up at the end of the week.
I hope Team Obama starts hitting the tax return issue hard again, as it clearly causes Mitt a great deal of anxiety, and no small amount of rage. If the President had actually mentioned it onstage tonight, I bet we would have seen a minor meltdown. It would have been great during the pension standoff.
I guess there won’t be any real opportunities to get it in at the foreign policy debate, but maybe he’ll get in a shot about how Romney can’t even do something as mindlessly easy as attending the Olympics without insulting our strongest ally and arousing the ire of its people.
But anyway, I hope we Mitt’s remarks about women coming to bite him in the ass in the next few days.
in action, as well as Mitt’s own sense of entitlement and arrogance. Remember, he’s a bishop, and someone who must be obeyed in his church. Machiavelli, he isn’t.
Right now, women and blacks are biting him in the ass, and those self-inflicted wounds are not a pretty sight.

I don’t believe any of those polls. Polls are not infallible. I’ll wait for a bit before I believe that the gender gap is closing. It was built by hundreds of choices, laws, destructive practices, and years of misogynist crap from the Repukeliscum.
They are telling us that 1 debate in which Romney interrupted Obama is going to erase years of hateful destructive laws and statements?
I have never even known an American family with the rigid gender roles that Mitt seems to believe as normal, except on fictional TV shows. Wake up, ladies.
I have. Of course, that didn’t apply to blue collar women like my Mom. Would you believe people actually laughed at the idea of a female Engineer? President or business executive was just fantasies. There were many good things about the 1950’s and there were many ugly things. In addition to the idea of female inferiority, there was “blacks should know their place”, “homosexuals should be in prison or an insane asylum”, and “the rich are rich because of their innate genetic ability and are superior to people who work with their hands”. Some things haven’t changed.
President Barack Obama took responsibility and control over the issue last night and slammed apprentice Willard Romney on using dead Americans for political gain. A game changer and thanking CNN moderator Candy Crowley.
HEMPSTEAD, New York (Buzzfeed)– Barack Obama turned his administration’s worst foreign policy disaster into a dramatic victory in Tuesday’s debate when Mitt Romney sought to stretch the criticism of the Obama Administration’s handling of the incident.
“The day after the attack, governor, I stood in the Rose Garden and I told the American people and the world that we are going to to find out exactly what happened. That this was an act of terror and I also said that we’re going to hunt down those who committed this crime. And then a few days later, I was there greeting the caskets coming into Andrews Air Force Base and grieving with their families. And the suggestion that anyone on my team would play politics or mislead when we’ve lost four of our own, governor, is offensive. That’s not what we do. That’s not what I do as president. That’s not what I do as commander-in-chief.”
Romney’s posturing at the “just want to be sure it’s on the record” or however he phrased it was truly bizarre – it indicated that he had no concept that he was talking to the president of the United States about an official speech in a debate being broadcast by all the networks, but also it showed how he lives in a swamp of lies. He was treating the President as if the President were the etch-a-sketch. “I just want to get the version you’re telling us this time on the record”. I can’t imagine what a swamp of shifting realities Romney lives in.
It was astounding the insensitivity of Willard to pursue the issue after President Obama made a solid rebuttal in response to attack for continuing campaign fundraising in days after Benghazi raid. As the President firmly countered: “That’s offensive.” Looking at the transcript, Romney couldn’t put a name on Chris Stevens and the Memorial Service in State’s Capital.
ROMNEY: “… and — and those terrible things may well happen from time to time. I — I’m — I feel very deeply sympathetic for the families of those who lost loved ones. And today there’s a memorial service for one of those that was lost in this tragedy. We — we think of their families and care for them deeply. There were other issues associated with this — with this tragedy. There were many days that passed before we knew whether this was a spontaneous demonstration, or actually whether it was a terrorist attack.
And there was no demonstration involved. It was a terrorist attack and it took a long time for that to be told to the American people. Whether there was some misleading, or instead whether we just didn’t know what happened … “
OBAMA: “The day after the attack, governor, I stood in the Rose Garden and I told the American people in the world that we are going to find out exactly what happened. That this was an act of terror and I also said that we’re going to hunt down those who committed this crime. And then a few days later, I was there greeting the caskets coming into Andrews Air Force Base and grieving with the families.
And the suggestion that anybody in my team, whether the Secretary of State, our U.N. Ambassador, anybody on my team would play politics or mislead when we’ve lost four of our own, governor, is offensive. That’s not what we do. That’s not what I do as president, that’s not what I do as Commander in Chief.”
Not all Romney hands saw value in Republicans leveling attacks on the moderator. Senior campaign adviser Eric Fehrnstrom said: “I don’t complain about the refs, I think Candy was dandy.”
So we learned that Mitt not only didn’t watch or read a transcript of the Rose Garden announcement of the “terrorist attack in Benghazi” but that he also couldn’t name the dead Ambassador he was so concerned about.
Recently I said something to the effect of: The President needs to show us that he actually wants to be re-elected because even I have been doubting it lately.
I think he did that at this debate. I’m satisfied now.
And I think Romney showed everyone that he is completely unable to handle the job and should not be entrusted with it.
(Balloon Juice) – Romney claimed that when he became Governor of Massachusetts, that he, not knowing any competent women executives (that’s a story in its own right) that he wanted to add women to his cabinet so he had binders of women prepared and delivered to him.
.. as Romney’s administration continued in the state government, the percentage of women in executive positions declined from 30% before he took office to 27.6% when he left.
This guy looks scarier every time he shows his mug. The campaign is not wearing on him well.
Seriously, how can anyone like the guy? He is scowling. I can’t believe that this country is so full of people that would look at him and go “Hey, he’s in my corner!”.
He’s a shark. The human predator, top of the food chain. Beware or be eaten.
Lost amidst all the other gems is Mitt’s response about assault weapons – blaming violence on single mothers/ single parent households !! his response to assault weapons – encourage ppl to get married!!!
Here you see the supressed rage of the entitled plutocrat Big Boss when someone (like a gub’mint bureaucrat) dares to stand in his way. “I like to be able to fire people”, remember?
It’s similar to the pigheaded rage of the average “conservative” white male towards all the various demographic and political groups that makeup the Dem party. That’s “conservatism”…
That one of the Little People (and a woman at that!) dared to contradict The Bishop during his Fateful Big Moment was simply unendurable. His blood was literally boiling with rage. He also treated Crowley with barely concealed contempt the whole evening. She had be be aware of that.
Of course, for an old school male chauvinist religious authoritarian to have to get up there on national teevee and blabber what he sees as very unfortunate PC nonsense about “equal opportunities for the little ladies” is a heavy lift for a socially reactionary turd like Willard. We’ll have to grant him that. “As guv’nor I saw binders full of women! As Ann said, whocoudaknowed?” Jeebus.
How DARE you talk over me to fact-check my statement, woman!
The family has a real sad:
The look on (whichever) son’s face is priceless. That photo shows Obama standing and talking in front of them. I wonder what was being said at the time this photo was shot.
And what is Ann wearing there?
Apparently, it is Josh.
I posted the following caption on my FB-page:
“Who is that uppity plebeian ni**er, doesn’t he know his place?”
It’s Matt. I didn’t even know there was a Matt.
I thought Biden used Ryan as a mat. Romney has one too?

Michelle looked great. Much better outfit too, just same color.
amazing! thanks. It may be the same dress with different jackets – Ann’s draperies and Michelle’s matching jacket. If so, did they plan it? Ann has expensive clothes but doesn’t look comfortable in them.
Who are the couple sitting in front of Ann? aren’t they too young to be her parents, but look like Ann.
They may just be “Undecided voters.” The photos at Getty noted son Ben sitting on left of Ann and son Matt sitting on right. No mention of those other people that I noticed. They could be guests of someone though because that does look like a guest seating area.
To my eyes it was the first interesting garment that Ann Romney has worn. Looked as expensive as it probably was. As for the pink dresses, yuck.
Ann should have left that drape on when she went on stage afterwards; the pink dress without it wasn’t flattering to her, especially around the midriff.
And I say that as a woman with more midriff than I like.
She probably didn’t choose what you call the drape and liked the way the dress fitted her. What she should have junked was the cheap looking necklace.
yes, the necklace, color doesn’t work. probably expensive but the color with the dress makes it look cheap. I like the pink though
Nothing wrong with the color except there seems not to be agreement on whether it was green or turquoise; either would have been fine, although a deeper shade might have been better. That is an ass kicking. And Romney keeps stepping in it and asking for more.

So we learned that Mitt not only didn’t watch or read a transcript of the Rose Garden announcement of the “terrorist attack in Benghazi” but that he also couldn’t name the dead Ambassador he was so concerned about.
yes, that’s amazing! thanks for pointing it out!!
Recently I said something to the effect of: The President needs to show us that he actually wants to be re-elected because even I have been doubting it lately.
I think he did that at this debate. I’m satisfied now.
And I think Romney showed everyone that he is completely unable to handle the job and should not be entrusted with it.
Bring on the election.
CROWLEY: Governor Romney, pay equity for women?
Reminds me of this guy
This guy looks scarier every time he shows his mug. The campaign is not wearing on him well.
Seriously, how can anyone like the guy? He is scowling. I can’t believe that this country is so full of people that would look at him and go “Hey, he’s in my corner!”.

.
Nick, is that you? Sam?
Clearly he’s been practicing scary faces with Dick Cheney.
I wish he’d go hunting with Cheney.
Lost amidst all the other gems is Mitt’s response about assault weapons – blaming violence on single mothers/ single parent households !! his response to assault weapons – encourage ppl to get married!!!
Upon seeing the photo my 7-year-old daughters said, “Hi Willard.”

I’m the MORMON Prince.
That’s the look of a job being created.
It hurts on the way out.
WOW! What a picture!
Let me guess.
The Cindy Crowley moment?
Hey Sam, you really need to work on the a href=”…” stuff between the GT and LT signs.
It’s important.
Thank you and have a “The computer will be up in 15 minutes” kind of day.
