Now let’s get to the important business: trolling the wingnuts. It’s gloating time.
Not so fast. Watching CNBC and they are reporting Mitt is not conceding because Mitt believes he can win Ohio.
Mitt believes words have no meaning. Mitt should be getting on his plane to the caymans or his swiss chalet.
That’s pathetic. Mitt’s havin’ a meltdown. Love it.
He apparently did write a concession speech ahead of time. Complete denial and classless. Not surprising.
Ike wrote a note of apology and personal accountability if D day failed. That was true leadership.
And since Mitt hasn’t had a drink in 65 years I imagine while at least he is sober he may not have a clue to deal with the most epic fail of his life. I expect he is searching for a revelation. But I also expect he isn’t giving a lot of useful insight and direction to his speech writers about what he actually insists he knows he should say.
How? He’s losing in the counties that are still counting. The “red” counties mostly 100% counted.
Remember the story about Mitt flipping out behind the scenes at the Univision Forum? I think that’s what is happening right now at Romney HQ. He’s having a tantrum.
He’s stalling for time so he can write that concession speech.
Get yer gloat on!! Four more years of sticking in the fork.
Now we need to get Biden-Hickenlooper in 2016
Even Fox called it.
I am so glad that FL will not matter.
Can I really relax now?
And so far the Senate has looked great, too.
Congratulations, everyone.
Got the cognac out – cheers!!!
Only question left is 332 or 319. Anybody know anything about Virginia?
Sabato has us winning, as do I.
I heard a few minutes ago that Obama won Virginia.
The most important thing is that this was probably the last cycle the southern strategy had a chance to win. McCain tried it and lost, Romney tried it, and lost. Now the republicans can either change, or die as a national party. It will not work in four years. With a white candidate I bet many other states come into play in four years.
.
They will run the exact same campaign in 4 years. Of this I am sure.
And that maybe more than anything else will end the obstructionism and gridlock in DC.
Or not.
There is so much outright hatred out there.
And white fear.
Not with the results they’re getting in the House. They are welcome to keep trying and failing with this strategy in all other areas.
YES!!! Without Florida, Virginia or the other.
The South has lost it’s hold. HE ddin’t need them at all
That reminds me…
FUCK.
THE.
SOUTH.
Maybe sometime soon they will realize they lost that war 142 years ago.
Cripes 152 years ago. Has it been that long already?
That god damn war is still going on!
.
McCain is going to open for Romney with the concession? The GOP can’t find someone who isn’t already a proven loser? I wonder how long he will put off conceding so Obama can’t give his victory speech. I imagine the Romney camp has a few exploding heads.
Well there you go. Romney isn’t conceding Ohio.
Karl Rove’s on Fox disputing the early call for Ohio.
YEAH
thanks BooMan for all the great commentary you’ve given this election season.
Romney NOT conceding Ohio!
Mitt’s campaign has never been reality based…
Too early to call anything in Nevada but Berkley and Obama lead at this early point. (Mostly early vote totals.)
The NV Senate race is a real nail-biter. Within a couple thousand votes splitting them since the results started flowing in.
Daily Fail reporting that Romney didn’t write a concession speech.
Probably true.
Someone should let Karl Rove know that while he’s questioning the result in Ohio, Obama is winning in FL, CO, and VA
Heads exploding on RedState.
I’m lovin’ it.
DAYAMMMM!!!
Did you guys know there was a senatorial election in CA?
Shows how competitive THAT race was.
The fix worked!!!
Congratulations.
Celebrating?
Me too…as soon as the frog-marching starts.
Until then?
It’s just a win for the good cop.
Ya gotta believe?
Not until he and his administration come down hard like a motherfucker on the corporate criminals who have sacked this country.
What’s to lose? He’s not running again. Lay it out, brother.
If you dare.
Until then?
He’s still bought and sold as far as I am concerned.
Bet on it.
Convince me, Barack.
I dare ya.

Have a drink and chill dude. It’s Miller Time.
Although I would recomend a Yankee Puker.
I started a reply to this comment and it grew.
Go read it here if you so desire.

Colorado goes to Obama!
It is time for shithead to concede.
“Self Deport” two words sure sink any future Republican Presidential Campaign.
Somebody just hacked HuffPo. Their maps have reverted to about 4 hours ago.
Joe Walsh out. Fuck him.
Greyson back. Ok
Just an aside… Is Chuck Todd drunk or just exhausted?
Tonight he’s the rotating “weather man” for at least three different NBC networks. He’s probably exhausted,
Mmmmmm….the delicious shadenfreud of watching Rove on Fox go through the stages of grief over Ohio — first,
shock and denial.
Oh that is precious. How much did Rove pay to try to buy the election? Of course Rove makes money either way, just less without a Romney led government teet to suck off of. He will have to settle Fox news money.
What I am seeing from early House returns is almost a disaster. Just an absolutely awful night for the Dems.
All that dark money was good for something. That and the Obama team focused their fire on Mitt more than the House.
Look at the map. That wasn’t going to change.
But Tommey Thompson lost…. To a gay woman no less.
But Tommey Thompson lost…. To a gay woman no less.
That was so good, I was happy to read it twice!
It’s close but it looks like Allen West is going to lose. Michele Bachmann is in a dogfight.
Good
Oh goodie. I am watching the last truly odd and weird man speech from Romney I will ever have to watch. I prefer my national leaders to be evolved and not remind me of every asshole rich guy boss I ever had who had no clue how to empathize with the people he needed to get the results that put money in his pocket.
Well that was a short and uninspiring speech.
What, you think they won’t be inviting Mitt to speak at the ‘016 RNC? 😉
Nope. Where was bush this year? Palin? McMcain?
Heidi 51% Berg 49% with 89% reporting.
So far so good, but won’t likely know this one ’til tomorrow.
Signed Sealed and Delivered! I’m yours!
And how cool was it his daughter reminded him to thank the crowd behind him?
BTW, I hope the president and the senate can work together with the house GOP to admit Puerto Rico as a state as they apparently have decided to go all the way.
Yeah. We take care of our own. Best speech he has given in years.
clearly what we need is more advice from bloggers about “what Obama needs to do” in order to win AMIRITE
Here we go. Chris Matthews and Ed Shultz attacking the President about not being liberal enough. Can we at least have 1 day? Dear God.
Looks EXACTLY like Nate’s map.
Chris Matthews really needs to get some sleep.
“I’m so proud of America… [for re-electing Obama] I’m so glad we had that storm last week…” Everyone’s jaws dropped and he corrected himself. “Politically, I mean.”
Uhh-boy.
Well, the results are in and Dean Heller (R) won the NV Senate seat by just 12,134 votes. (45.91% Heller to 44.69% Berkley)
Interestingly, Nevada has an option on the ballot for “None of these candidates” and 44,892 people voted “for” that. This has the same effect of not voting on this race but it gets counted. Not surprising after the massive non-stop air war over that seat for the last year.
Since Shelley Berkley left her House seat to run for this Senate seat, she’s now unemployed, but still very wealthy so don’t worry about that. Her House seat was filled by Dina Titus (D)with 64% of the vote there.
No matter what people say and think when it comes to the real decision it always is the majority that holds the power. Needs of the mass are always more important than the need of individual or small groups. classic trucks for sale
VICTORY! I don’t comment much but I read it all. I just came back from front of white house, we did it! I love this community, thanks Booman for everything.
.
Great headline I saw while searching for news on Michele Bachmann’s race…
(From Slate)
No word yet, that I can find. Still extremely close. Could potentially go into automatic recount.
Dammit! She won. Comedians everywhere are celebrating.
As I’ve heard pointed out elsewhere, as long as we have people like Bachmann in the House (since we weren’t going to take it back anyway), it serves to put a crazy face on the GOP as a whole, and we need a few faces like that to help the population at large until the truth of the current political situation soaks the rest of the way in.
That said, I’m damned pleased to see Allen West out.
Got EV count correct; waiting on PV but that’s looking like what I had (51-48); I had 55 in the Senate with Heller being my Republican winner. Let’s hope MT and ND can keep it that way.
The House…well…I don’t want to talk about it lol.
In the House, West, Walsh lost – those fuckers are evil.
IL is now 12 D 6 R, from 50/50
CA is now 36 D 15 R – gain of 5 seats there
We lost seats elsewhere, but our control of the big states is getting stronger.
I am “Sleepless In Ohio” this morning. But very, very satisfied.
I get a couple hours of sweet rest, wake up and find out I’m a traitor to my race.
I’m good with that.
I saw somewhere in all of the reporting that white men in Ohio sold out their race, rejecting Romney, at a higher rate than white men in other comparable states.
Thank you, white men of Ohio.
It is going to be an interesting holiday season coming up with the family. At least those who won’t have already moved to their secure bunker to make their last stands against the roving gangs of Obamabots that are most certainly coming for their guns and women.
I still might not have this shitty grin wiped off my face by Thanksgiving.
I was thinking of you last night when Ohio came in for Obama. Thanks for all your hard work! 🙂
Thanks CG. It is a good feeling when you win. I was so damn nervous in the beginning, but once the data started coming in, it became obvious how the night was going to go. Watched it all at home, just me and the wife. Obviously, when Ohio was called, a few text messages flew back and forth with my cohorts in crime. Then when Karl Rove had his freakout on FOX about Ohio we had a few good laughs. We knew from what we were seeing that Karl’s data was total BS. But it was funny watching his cohorts at the FOX desk talk to him like he was a delusional nutcase.
It is really just sinking in what a monumental win this is. So much was riding on this election. I know that every cycle. elections are called “the most important in our lifetime”. But really, last night’s win wasn’t just a Democratic win, it really was a win for liberals. When you look all around the country at how many victories were won on liberal issues, it makes it all the more head-spinning. I just don’t ever recall a night like this for liberal politics. All I can say is, “WOW!!!”
I only wonder if Karl Rove’s outburst on Fox was staged. He certainly seemed like he believes his own BS, but that could just be good acting skills.
The future viability of his Crossroads Super PAC just took a bit credibility hit though, so I’m happy about that.
