I thought I would be happier to be seeing the end of Joe Lieberman’s mostly pathetic political career, but it is just making me impatient to see John McCain go away and sell some boner pills on teevee.

His lawn is under siege.
Both things are possible, and in the not too distant future too.
THIS IS GREAT NEWS FOR JOHN MCCAIN!
Sore loser; just like McCain but worst.

It’s been a while (8 years) since I went to work everyday with almost exclusively black folks from North Philadelphia but I think I know them well enough to feel confident saying that it wasn’t Obama who increased the black vote by 650,000 in swing states. It was idiots who called him a Kenyan and asked for his birth certificate and who obstructed everything he tried to do.
I agree and Latino’s were scared of his “self-deport” statement and Romney’s association with Kris Kobach.
Reading Bobby Jindal’s condemnation of Romney’s now infamous donor call today where he said Obama won because of the gifts he gave to all the takers; it must have been a freeing moment for Jindal and other R’s to finally be able to call Mitt on his stupid. Romney’s last gift, to infuriate every element of the electorate that the Party needs to woo for any chance of survival.
McCain and Graham may think they have cover to pretend righteousness but the Party is striking out at anything that moves right now and if Petraeus has an ounce of testerone left he’ll come out swinging at them tomorrow.
Angry old fool yelling at clouds, a description you use frequently, fits perfectly.
What is disgusting is how much air time and media access the old fool still gets.
There was a time when politicians knew when to quit. With rare exception, not any more. Here is Exhibit A for that proposition.
There is an old saying that you should keep your friends close, and your enemies closer.
Perhaps the Obama administration should nominate McCain for the vacated Secretary of Defense position.
Consider the following:
McCain is not competent – are you seriously suggesting that he should be secretary of defense?
Yes, I am completely serious.
McCain is not incompetent; as silly as it sounds he just seems to be in with the wrong crowd (Graham, Fox News, etc…).
Remember when he was campaigning for President in 2008 he was confronted by a woman saying that “Obama was an Arab”. Instead of giving the crowd some Palin-esque platitude, he took her microphone away, rebuked her, and said that the President was a good and honorable citizen, etc… I believe that he would return to that same level-headedness if elevated to a cabinet position.
He has military experience, and if given the chance, I think would serve admirably for this Administration.
McCain has demonstrated, over the past 5 years, that he is not competent for a foreign policy cabinet position of any kind.
We will have to agree to disagree.
I’m sorry I do not ‘agree to disagree’ on blanket statements such as calling someone incompetent without backing it up with some rationale or further explanation.
From my perspective, McCain has simply taken a hardline position against whatever Obama has proposed; whether that’s from sour grapes or because Obama is not a warhawk like McCain/Graham and they just fundamentally disagree. That is not incompetence.
However if you want to neutralize McCain, and keep him away from the Fox news cameras, then allow him to be part of the decision-making process.
Right now I have the flu and don’t have much energy, but I’ll watch for your name in a few days and will try to respond with more detail then.
Remember Judd Gregg?
McCain would be Gregg on steroids, except that if he did accept he’d do untold damage to Defense from a combination of aggressive pigheadedness, last-war-fighting rigidity, MIC cronyism, media-glory whoring, and sheer spite for Obama.
And that’s on his good days.
For the umpteenth time, Viagra and the like are not covered at all under many employer group health plans, nor has the administration imposed any requirement that EGHPs cover them.
In contrast to the requirement that female contraception be covered.
Is there a Democratic war on men?
Just old men, maybe?
“Female contraception” is a medical necessity for many women and can help with VALID medical problems.
Viagra is just a drug to help OLD men feel less old, with a natural condition of older age, which is NOT medically necessary to change.
No comparison.
There simply is no equivalence. I am a man. I am not young.
