Jonathan Richman is a great songwriter. His humor is not the easiest to tune into, but for those of us who get it, my Lord he’s funny. Never has the delivery of “all right!” in the middle of a song been delivered in a less rousing manner; no one skewers show biz and cultural conventions so terrifically. Love that loooooow-key style.
