I suspected it before but now I am certain that Lou Dobbs is the dumbest man alive. So, too, is anyone who thinks an umbrella is effeminate and that the Marines should be barred from using them.

At on point, earlier in his career, Dobbs wasn’t fully crazy.
Then, when he went back on CNN in the early ought’s, he wasn’t fully horrible at first. He was even occasionally critical of W.
Then, even though he’s married to a Mexican-American woman, he left off on criticizing W, and he took up hating on the Messicans, BIG TIME!!!
He quickly became completely unwatchable.
FOX ‘n Sucks Business News is where he belongs.
NOBODY who cares about their investment(s), EVER watches that channel, because they take that “TEH STOOOOOOOOOOPID” brand from their “news” network, and apply it to FBN.
If you actually followed Varney and the other idiot’s on FBN, you’d be one of “The Poors” in a very short period of time.
I remember reading many years ago how Nixon wouldn’t use an umbrella (or at least be photographed holding one) because he didn’t want to look like Neville Chamberlain.
TPM reported that Tucker’s rag is claiming that it’s against the marine regulations (with citation) for marines to carry umbrellas while in uniform.
I think that’s right and it doesn’t just apply to the Marines. I have no idea why the prohibition exists.
Well usually in cases with ridiculous warnings, it’s because someone did something incredibly stupid once…
Very true.
Bush grabbed an umbrella from a uniformed marine and did a song and dance routine. Just guessing.

maybe only the Army can do it. But the Marine rule i think applies only to Marine, not when given an order to do so.
… and since the Commander in Chief can over rule “regulations”
since they were written by one of his subordinates, a marine or other military officer, for members of the uniformed military service … not civilians
IE the orders of the Commander in Chief over rule and regulations, not codified into law by congress …..
hence the Commander in Chief is not bound by any military regulations, ……
unlike the laws congress passes,
little bowtie’s dissertations aren’t worth the toilet paper he conceived them on.
And a person looking into a camera and reading while standing in the rain, slowly getting wetter and wetter, drop by drop looks so dignified.
Has nothing to do with effeminancy and everything to do with the uniform.
Marines are not allowed to carry things that could detract from the uniform itself, or interfere with saluting. This includes cigarettes.
When a Marine carries a pack of cigarettes he/she carries them inside the socks, assuming they are in pants. Believe it or not, you can get gigged for carrying your damn smokes in your shirt pocket when in civilian clothes.
Additionally, female marines in skirts are allowed to strap the cigarettes to the inside of their upper thigh. This, as you can guess, is not as convienent as the inside of the calf.
Depending on the cover you wear, it is possible to put a flat cigarette carrier inside the cover … but if you get caught there’s hell to pay.
