My three brothers!
how do we verify this?
I’ll bring them to a Phillies game and you can judge for yourself. I’m confident you’ll agree with me. Its self apparent although I have the advantage of watching these idiots for 40+ years. Just sayin.
Bill Keller?
Who are the stupidest idiots in the world?
People who believe anything Conservatives say.
So many idiots, so little time…
Right now, Ima say Erick Erickson, who rambled on about working women recently and showed his ass. Again. Never attempt to discuss science, Erick.
In the “Highest Overpaid Idiot” category, the leader of the pack is Gordon Gee, president of the Ohio State University, who pulls down 1.9 million smackers and shoots his mouth off regularly. Most recently he managed to insult, in a single speaking engagement, Catholics, Notre Dame University, University of Louisville, University of Kentucky, SEC, and MAC, mostly saying those schools students were too stupid to graduate. He has a delightful history of insulting a wide variety of groups, and he seems to never learn.
And my final nominee is probably Michele Bachmann, whose decision not to run is a mixed blessing because she is a damaging factor in so many ways, but can also be held up constantly for ridicule.
How about IL Democrats failing to pass marriage equality with 2/3 majority in the House?
I think that qualifies.
The tiny percentage of folks who responded to spam email and made the whole effort profitable.
And the stupidest among these are those who fell for the Nigerian bank scam.
And are still falling for it. After a decade of publicity and literally trillions of spam e-mails, there are still people who believe. In the immortal words of Fox Mulder (and echoed daily by the millions who watch his network’s sister project), they want to believe.
Kansas Gov., Legislature and Senate are trying to figure out how to raise a sales tax on the masses to give the KOCH brothers & millionaire a tax break from state income taxes.

Who are the stupidest idiots in the world? Those who believe what a government…any government…tells them.
Power corrupts. Government is power. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. A government that holds absolute power over your continued life is absolute power. Its statements are thus the product of absolute corruption.
Dassit.
That’s the way it works. At the very least that is the way it has been working since the JFK assassination. I see no change in this situation other than more efficient lying from the absolute powers that now hold our lives in escrow.
You bet your life. Your only real collateral.
UH oh!!!
And you believe your mortgage holders after 50 years of blatant lying?
Duh!!!
AG
I hate to say it, but I think the answer right now is us.
With the absence of meaningful reform after the Crash of ’08, it’s clear now that another disastrous crash is imminent. Unless we somehow manage to lose the White House between now and then, which looks doubtful, we’re going to end up owning that crash.
At that point, the teabaggers will end up running the country and we’ll likely be officially oppressed in myriad ways. Our side could have fixed Wall Street and prevented another disaster, but didn’t. We will end up paying the price, and a high one it will be.
Sigh.
Who is this “us” you speak of? I had nothing to do with the failure to implement bank reform, or the failure to address climate change (an even more extreme example of idiocy), or any of the myriad other issues where I’ve worked my ass off and yet even my supposed allies in public office watch, fiddle in hand, as the flames rise.
On countless issues – especially the big ones – the gulf between what a majority of Americans want and what our public officials actually do may never have been wider. Especially post-Citizens United, we no longer have a representative democracy, or even many of the trappings of one. At most, massive public outcry occasionally shifts the debate a bit, or puts less-worse people in office. (And occasionally quite good ones, but that’s really infrequent.) But most of the worst policies and biggest crimes in our society have nothing to do with the political beliefs or activism (or lack of it) of ordinary people, for better or worse. The policies come first, then the marketing of them. Methinks you’re blaming the victims here.
Not that there aren’t plenty of people who believe the marketing and are idiots. But don’t confuse that with failure to change or stop the policies, because except at the local level, it’s pretty rare when even the people who do care, a lot, can have an impact. Obviously, as an activist, I think people have a responsibility to try, and to speak up for what they want. But plenty of folks have concluded that that’s a pointless exercise because they can’t have an impact anyway. Since they’re usually right, I really can’t label that as evidence of idiocy.
I’ll stop here before I start sounding too much more like AG. But as inelegant as his cynicism can be, he’s as grounded in reality as any of us. 🙂
It’s a broad use of “us,” as in “those of us who backed Barack Obama for President and still do.” I see many of us looking at demographic shifts in the electorate and starting to feel a bit cocky. I think these folks are whistling past the graveyard.
Anyone who continues to deny the existence of climate change, even as the climate changes right in front of them.
All of the people who don’t have the financial resources to move out of the trailer parks they live in in OK (and the rest of Tornado Alley) and along the hurricane-prone coasts who continue to vote for idiots like Coburn, Inhofe, Broun (R-GA), Sessions, Cruz, Vitter, and Rubio because of the “family values” none of them actually live by.
Well, there’s these guys:

You may be the winner here. Wow.
Strong contenders, for sure. However, the people who paid fifty bucks to attend are the real winners.
I might be willing to pay the $50 just for the entertainment value…
It would be worth it to sit in the audience, twirl a superball on the end of s string, and occasionally guffaw or shout “You suck!”
I wish large numbers of us could be given a heads up about the time and place of these nut-job gatherings. Sometimes public ridicule is more effective than ignoring the backward assholes.
At least they accept the Earth being a globe, unlike the Flat Earth Society.

Fox viewers.
The lady in front of me in line at the supermarket. Or the guy in front of me in line at the bank.
Huh. I thought I was their special project.
The stupidest idiots are the ones who should know better but choose not to. I am convinced that climate science denialism is not about intelligence. It is about moral foundations. The backward assholes care more about not letting the liberals be correct. More than they care about their children. Selfish assholes piss me off, I am getting mad just thinking about it. People can’t help their intelligence level to a great degree. But they can help, to a very large degree, to try to be good and caring.
Stupidest individual achievement by an idiot: Louie Gohmert.
Stupidest cast of idiots: the people in the middle and lower classes who have gotten suckered by the oligarchs to oppose their own financial self-interests by voting for Republicans who don’t give a single shit about their plight. The people who foamed at the mouth at the 2010 Congressional Town Halls in opposition to Obamacare provided the most ostentations displays of that stupidity.
