Gorgeous clouds but I have to admit that they are outshown by the splendor of cat-relaxing photos. 😉
Agree with you there Andi.
Especially the one all stretched out. 😀
Hi Olivia,
I see it`s already Sat. there.
I just had a feeling about tonight being an FFF one.
And here I find my feeling was right.
I`ll be back before Sat.`s out.
And,
Salut
Hi Head! Looking forward to your photos. 🙂
Thanks everyone, I’m off for today, we’ve houses to build. This is one of the projects I mentioned in the cafe’, more to come…
Dandelion Fine
Portait of a Not So Young Photographer
All in a rom
Nice set. #2 is my fave.
Love the drops Andi.
Favourite is the bottom one with the line along the leaf.
Very orderly. 😀
Thanks. Now I just have to figure out how I typed “rom” instead of “row. 🙂
Ha, didn’t even notice!
Bakes perfect sense to me.
🙂
that I hope will come back many more times.
Maybe looking for a new home.
It would be great if it was but Jim says that by now eagles would have already selected nesting sites. So it was probably just out looking for some new feeding grounds.
Have you seen it since?
No. 🙁
Gratuitous flower shot.
I’ve been working with a new lens and the images are much sharper. AF-S NIKKOR 24-85mm f/3.5-4.5G ED VR
Wonderful shot. I’m sure we’ll enjoy your new lens as much as you. 🙂
If you’re new to VR don’t forget to turn the VR off when you’re shooting on a tripod.
Thanks and thanks for the tip. I don’t usually use one, even though it sits in the corner, for the past 25 years, staring at me.
Pretty.
Congratulations on the new lens — always a creative boost to have a new perspective to work with!
It was time as the old one took a bounce, autofocus is off, manual is fine, not worth sending out for repair. 🙁
Heron Blue
Worty Spider
Nice!
Love the colour of those spiderworts, and great photo of the heron flying … look at those wings!
The spider wort w/spider is an instant classic.
Random picks:
Placencia, Belize (2008) – beach replanted after hurricane
Also in Placencia
Bronx Botanical Garden
BBG
😀
The BBG looks like a fine place to hang out but the sculptures are maybe a little tiny bit suggestive.
That looks like the life cycle sculpture of the infamous titan arum … one of IVG’s favourites. 😀
Love the first photo ask — that lone tall palm is beautiful.
BBG looks like the place to be. Nice capture on the lotus.
Beautiful sky & cute kitties.

The Madeline’s crew readies for the summer sailing season
Land’s end ~ Grand Traverse Bay lighthouse
Beautiful — looks like you had some wonderful weather.
Love the bright colours in the photos, especially the lighthouse!
Looking north from there, I imagined I could almost see your place;-)
Those are really great, especially that view from the cottage — how nice to wake up to that every morning. Sure looks like you had both a great time and great weather.
We did!
Great dune shots, glad you had a good vacation.
I guessed the wind speed atop the highest dune at around 30 – 40 mph. It felt as if we were being sandblasted!
The Lovers is a neat folk-artsy sculpture. I saw you other photos of the garden where it is over at FB. All your photos make me want to go on our trip, but it’s probably a little cold and snowy in the high Sierra so I’ll just have to enjoy your trip.
It was pre-season, so just a bit chilly (which is how we were able to afford a lakefront cottage). It snowed 2″ there the week before we arrived. Otherwise, the weather was beautiful and clear. It only rained after dark and during the early morning hours except for our last day there, when temps dropped 30 degrees overnight.
Here’s more on the Trick Dog artist, Greg Jaris. Our Michigan friends turned us on to the place. I wonder what the local reaction would be to a gallery like that around here?
Trying a new photo host.
Haven’t been able to get photobucket to work since they upgraded — anyone else having this problem?
I can’t view any of my photos once they’re uploaded – just get a blank grey screen.

Re: my photobucket problem, this is what I got when I clicked on ID’s images – greyed out:
Sometimes they show up, and sometimes when I click on the grey box a completely different photo opens from the thumbnail image. It happens on all my browsers as well.
Huh, I clicked on ID’s photos and I can see all of them. could you see mine when you clicked on them? The first two go to a page like ID’s.
Top one opened to grey:
Second and third opened successfully:
That is weird — you’d think it would either work all the time or fail all the time. I have no idea why it’s happening.
Olivia,
Amazing set.
I thought you always used Flickr.
Because flickr had the weird terms of use saying we couldn’t directly link to images, I started using photobucket for posting images for the flog/diaries. It worked great until they changed the format and now … well, grey. 🙂
Those are just spectacular (fly photo is still my favorite).
Thanks Andi!
Fantastic set, nice dof control. Occasionally the pics don’t show up, but on the next click they do. If your using blocking software make sure pbsrc.com is not blocked or you will get a gray box.
Thanks Bob!
Re pb: I’ll look into that — thanks!
I’ll echo BobX on the DOF control. Iris abstract is amazing.
Thanks Jim! I pulled out the 105mmf2.8 this past week.
I’m unable to pick a favorite – they are all just so delicate and beautiful.
Well these are a collection I sent to an online friend.
He`d include one per week in his weekly diary. Celsewhere)
The last ones in the pile are recent, starting at the cactus bloom.

Olivia
INNER LIGHT
Thanks for the benny. 🙂
I think the last photo is my favorite of both posts — it’s so weirdly beautiful.
and thanks for the blenny too.
(this flog will stand as a testament to my
poofproof-reading skills).Love the two fish! 😀
Olivia,
When I`m photo hunting, the little Green Chromis sticks right by the Blue Tang`s side..
Where Big Blue goes, so does Little Green.
Very unusual.
STAR FACTORY
It surprised me that I didn’t notice you had a cactus in there. It’s form is so similar to your aquarium critters that I only noticed it on my second pass through. I love the shot of the small silvery fish in front of the larger blue one.
Thank you Jim F
I don`t know if the little Green Chromis is seeking protection, or running interference when I try to photograph the Blue Tang.
This is not just a random shot but repeat behavior.
I`ve been trying to take the shot with the little one a bit further back so I get the Tang`s eye in full.
All amazing Head … but the first photo here is my favourite of the bunch!
Olivia,
Merci beaucoup.
I hope you clicked it for a bit of a larger file.
In person it is mesmerizing.
You`d think its tentacles would tangle up.
When any food particle comes near, it instantaneously grabs it & into the green inner area it goes, never to be seen again.
A giant 25 foot one would be a formidable wonder, although I`d hate to meet one in the wild, or anywhere, for that matter.
