Seven and a half hours to travel an hour an half (by Google Map’s estimation) to the festival. No ice. No water. No wifi. Promised food runs out. Shuttles are not where they should be. Cell phones don’t even work for whole first day, Crowd is tired and pissed off. They didn’t even ask the Chili Peppers for an encore. Pretty pathetic scene.

If it was three days and it rained for two of them, you would have the 21st century revival of Woodstock.
Ah, but I went to Woodstock and we all sent out good vibes to each other. Peace, bro.
Is that what was in those stogies?
There was no wi-fi at Woodstock… don’t know why you’d need it here.
Is that why things have been slow the past day and a half?
I’m going to this festival next month. Looking forward to it.
Let me know if you have an extra ticket.
I`d love to give it to one of my frenemies.
At Netroots Nation. Nancy Pelosi gets one question on the NSA story and offers up a two-page chart from the stage, showing the differences between Bush’s legal justifications and Obama’s. Except that if she had been bothered by Bush’s actions, she could have done something about it given that she was Speaker of the House at the time. Audience boos when she says that Snowden broke the law in practically the same breath as she says it’s good that we’re having a public discussion about these issues.
But I’m in San Jose and being well hydrated, so am fairly content.
hi blue moon, I’ve been at NN too. I thought that, like most of her remarks, was pretty predictable. It was good the crowd reminded her that progressives are not merely loyal Democratic tools. Noticeable that they had a crew ready to hustle hecklers out of there.
Hi there! I thought the heckling was handled well by everybody. Pelosi’s pol-speak was as polished as usual. How the Sierra Club can sponsor a lunch in plastic containers for hundreds of people is more surprising to me. Have a good trip back to wherever you’ve traveled from.
hope you also have a good trip if you’re traveling. I was posting from home; I live 15 minutes from the convention center, which is the only reason I decided to attend NN.
good comment about the lunches, I hadn’t thought of that.
Then you live 15 minutes from the best bakery I’ve ever been to. I came home with three different kinds of mousse.
Become a drag after about age 25. Unless you go full RV/VIP price point. I’d stick to the urban core festivals like Lollapalooza. Even if things go to shit, just walk out of the gates and it’s a short walk to food, lodging and mass transit.
Interesting it was at Dover Downs. That sort of disinterest in the customer, and captive audience exploitation is pretty typical at oval track races. Road courses make for a far better motor sports customer experience.
This is 100% off topic, but I was looking through some of my old photos and realized that I no longer have a BooTrib t-shirt. I’ve worn through both the ones I had. As you can see they’ve seen some pretty awesome places. I have some travel plans on the horizon and would like to include the site in the only way I know how.
I’m wearing my shirt right now, but I don’t have any extras. Maybe I need a new design.
If you settle on something and make it happen, I’ll be first in line at the shop!
Ah. those pesky first world problems…
.
Putin must be furious over Obama’s “double-cross” on sending more and heavier arms to the Sunni rebels in Syria. LOL
BREAKING NEWS: Snowden on Aeroflot flight to Moscow
Maybe Hong Kong wasn’t free, open and transparent enough for him?
No doubt he’ll be kept happily busy revealing more national security information to his new hosts.
Perhaps a nice dacha is in his future.
.
Putin won’t touch him and the Russian military intelligence GRU won’t interrogate him. Edward Snowden seen by many across the globe as a whistleblower hero, was seen entering a Ecuadorean Embassy car. This maked it more complicated and de facto gives him protection under diplomatic status.
Will the US AirForce intercept a passenger plane flying across the Atlantic and the Caribbean and force it to land within US territory? Keep us informed, US European allies aren’t pleased with the full surveillance of its citizens, no matter what. US foreign policy is the root cause of terror plots from Islamic nations anyway.
See my diary – NSA-GCHQ Espionage – Deceiving the Nation and the World.
Snowden knows that if he gets sent back here he’s looking at the same treatment as Bradley Manning. The rest of his life in solitary, naked, torture likely, trial optional. I’d take my chances with Putin too.

So when Obama meets with the Chinese Premier (or whatever his title is) Snowden reveals that the US has been spying on China. And when Obama meets with Putin Snowden reveals that we were spying on Russia.
It is very unlikely that China and Russia didn’t know about this. After all, we’ve been spying on each other since the end of WWII. So for whose consumption is Mr. Snowden’s world tour? And for what purpose? The longer this goes on the more he appears to be on a mission from the intelligence community to undercut the Administration. They do that periodically.

Shrug.
I’d be disappointed in the Firefly Festival, too, if Nathaqn Fillion didn’t show up
